Kind of like self hypnotism? Maybe I'll try that too. You really dreamt what you wanted to? That's an interesting thought. I'm not against medication. I've had to take sleep aids in the past for my awful spells of insomnia. Middle school and high school were awful times for me sleep wise. If that particular dream comes back, I may opt for the medication too just in case. It was just to much to me to handle yesterday. Thank you very much for the support and ideas! I'll definitely give them a try.
Thank you Judai. -hugs back- I actually managed to sleep soundly last night. Candles and two cups of sweet dreams tea with extra chamomile seemed to do the trick. I'm going yo look into buying a dream catcher. My grandpa on my mother's side did put a lot of faith in them. He brought me one back from the reservation when he went to visit family. From what I remember back then it seemed to help too.
I'm not sure what even brought them on this time. Usually I can pretty much pinpoint what causes them but, I've got no clue at all. I'm still not keen on giving details but it was about my deceased grandparents. I wasn't thinking about them before bed or anything or even the strange thing that happened to them. I worried poor Okami too...I even set him into a nightmare fit yesterday. Thank you for the support though, I very much appreciate it. Hopefully I'll stay nightmare free for awhile now. I hope you feel better soon too ^^
I have had experiences where I'd repeat to myself what I want to dream about before I fall asleep. Just a short sentence will do. I remember it working on me before.
If that doesn't work for you, I've heard of medications that help with nightmares. Can't name names, though. I don't know if you're against that sort of thing, but I'm just throwing it out there.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!
I'm sorry you're not feeling well and to have nightmares on top of that, I really feel for you. Have you tried maybe dream catchers or maybe you can pray for peaceful sleep. I also suggest maybe lighting a candle a half hour before going to sleep, breathe in the scent and let it wash over you and soothe your demons while you rest. These are just a few suggestions, another thing would be to look up something on Google for warding off nightmares. It's really up to you.
I just hope you feel better soon. Dream good dreams, you're in my prayers. *hugs*
