I have mixed feelings on this live action movie rendition of the manga/anime Prince of Tennis. I’m a big fan of the anime and although Kanata Hongo (Ryoma) and Yuu Shirota (Tezuka) is cute I’m not a big fan of this. I feel that it was too hurried. I couldn’t appreciate my favorite characters like Shusuke Fuji.
But disregarding the fact that I have seen the anime I would say that I would still understand the story on its own. There are also changes in the cast, changes in the matches and having two original characters. I like the funny bits with Nanjiro and Ryoma. What else is to say the ending is nice it fits the movie.
I was waiting for a part where Kaido and Momo would bicker but that didn’t happen or Eiji acting like a cat at least once.
There’s also Musical Play version of this movie kinda like Bleach. But I think I wouldn’t watch that, I’ll end up laughing... definitely…
