So while I was looking for anime to watch when I was still watching Umineko, I came across this videogame based game. Although, it only have 4 episode plus an 11 minute ‘missing footage’ episode, it still took me this long to focus my time on it. I have a pretty sad life as an anime fanatic. *sigh*

Corpse party is about a cursed school that was shut down due to unfortunate events. A group of friends gathered in the school where the cursed school once stood to basically have one more day together as one of the students are about to transfer to another school. They performed a ritual that was said to bring friends together but instead it brought them to the hellish school “Tenjin Shōgakkō”.

The story sounds pretty normal to be honest, being trapped in a haunted school on another dimension. I have seen lot of horror stories that this doesn’t really fall in the category, plot-wise, of being terrifying. However while watching this, fear definitely took over me, I usually don’t pause to catch my heartbeat but I did this so many times while watching this.

Much like in reality, what made this story scary are not the ghosts but how the characters behaved. Some characters were scared, some were corrupted and some just totally lost their minds. If you are in a situation that you just cannot control your environment, it becomes harder to keep yourself together.

The ending was just annoying. Sometimes sacrifice is a good thing but when I see ending like this, I just feel stressed. Like all your efforts are thrown down the drain. This is a recommendation from me if you just like to see gore and be a little scared even just a little bit.
