I hail from the US. But I've been to the middle east a few times. A number of the locals I worked around on the bases were Pakistani. Your culture is quite different from the one I grew up with. Loved some of the food I got to have. Though, I love most food XD
Thank you sooo much for the great advice It has given me alot of comfort, and I won't be giving up ant time soon :) I'll try and when it'll be time to sacrifice and make compromises I'll always be ready...Life is nothing but struggle you can't survive if you give up, so no giving up for me :)
I'm from this country called Pakistan, its beside India...Which country are you from?? You're really patriotic joining military and all and giving your whole life to it, I'm saluting you :) I also wanted to join the military but I can't because I have dual citizenship and to join military in my country you have to leave the citizenship of the other country...And even thou I love my country noone is letting me give up my dual nationality..I'm half Canadian by the way ;)
I'm happy I could help your frustration even a little bit. I know it doesn't erase it though because I myself struggle with some of these same frustrations on a daily basis. *chuckles*
There is still much my parents don't know about me. Everyone I know keeps things from their parents.
From what I've experienced, you so don't have a polluted mind. I just think you are judging it through your parents eyes and not through what is average in the world. You're an okay gal, and there's nothing wrong with a bit of smut in the mind space.
Sometimes I think part of why I joined the military was to make sure that I'd have my say in what I do with my future. No one thought I could get through basic training, let alone last 12 years. But I have. I don't know what options you have but sometimes it takes an action like that to shut dads up. ;P
I can't say don't give up, because I did many times in my younger years. Just don't stop trying. A little bit here, a bit there, it hurts, it sucks but that's what friends are for. To help you with the hurt and suckage.
On a side note, though I may have read it and forgotten, what country do you hail from?

Thankyou for the advice :) that's gives me another perspective to think about....I was only upset cause they wouldn't let me know what kind of surgery my mom is going to have...but I figured it out anyway cause I've studied about all that in school...because of the annoyance I blabbered a whole lot...and blabbered a whole lot more of it to NNM...as you might be able to see in comments...the frustruation will pass in a day or two....I think a need to think a little bit more responsibily...just need to grow up a bit more!!
You' re right...even thou my parents are fine I feel so distant with them, theres a whole side of me that they don't know, a side of me thst utters foul words under her breath, watches porn, has fantisies and what not and I think i have a really polluted mind but I think thats because of my parents too, If they would have told in about sex in the right light i would have stayed away from finding about it from a dictionary...but i never feel free, i don't have the independence to go out alone, and I don't have the independence to get a job...I'm going to study a course of my Dad's choice...
You're right its about the culture too, my culture is too tight, even thou my Dad tries to be liberal his male, boisterous ego always takes over and I'm left doing exactly as he wants...in the race of making my parents happy I've pretty much lost my integrity as an individual. my decisions don't matter or does what I say...
I hope all of our wounds heal in time...cause atleast someday they might get it....
I'm really sorry for the rambling but I had to tell someone...now i feel free :)
About circumsicion...our teacher was astonished that we didn't know about it...she told us thats its not done much these days...in olden times to stop boys and girls from developing sexual temptations the tribal leaders used to have boys and girls both circumsised...thou don't ask me how they got girls circumsised, its too painful to talk about...
I think many parents will treat their offspring like children no matter the age. (My mom still calls me "baby girl".) Maybe it has something to do with them denying to themselves that we are growing up and that one day we will be out in the world on our own.
Honestly I think this is every true parent's fear and it is hard for them to talk about the more "adult" things with us because it would be like acknowledging that we will be separated from them soon.
Then there are somethings they don't want to talk about with us not because of our age, but because they love us and don't want us to worry. My parents still have a habit of doing this to me. Yes, I agree it is frustrating but I also understand their point of view too.
They aren't doing it to upset you, They are doing it because they love you and are afraid of that day where you will walk out that door into the world they have spent years trying to protect you from.
At least this is how I see it when I see parents treating their children like this.
Yeah, atleast it saves your butt :) It was huge I had a big arguement with them about it...but its fine now...the surgery is going to take place soon...thank you :)

I remember learning about circumcision from one of my moms medical books. All I could think was why would any guy want to do that. They already double over when kicked there.
Having grown up in a unstable family where my father was strict and my mother doing her best to raise three kids by herself, I've come to see something.
To my brother, I'm still the kid, to me my sister is still the youngest. To my mom, it took years to become an adult, and still even then I'm her spastic daughter.
I guess what I'm saying, it takes time. But it also depends on the culture your parents grew up in and the culture they live in now.
You just graduated high school and you are going to be watched closely to see how you deal with your new freedom. Your choices will dictate how long they will think of you as a kid. It's frustrating, annoying and I'm still pleading. Granted now I think they are just joking around to get that reaction.
I wish I could lessen that gap, but no matter where I go, it's there and there to stay. The best you can do is when you have kids yourself, you talk to them.

The porns under my bed disappeared one day while I was at school. Mother said nothing.
I think it's okay for kids to have some secrets from their parents...but they really should have told you about your mom's surgery. I mean, that's huge.
