Something has to be posted today that's actual news-worthy, so let me get this out of the way.
Three different manga titles are representing otaku on the USA Today's Booklist for March 17th - 23rd, which lists the top 150 manga for the week.
Naruto vol. 28 is at #39 (a drop from #26) Fruits Basket vol. 19 is at #34 (up from #112) Fullmetal Alchemist vol. 16 enters for the first time at #149
Numerous sources have confirmed that Hollywood Hot-shot Viggo Mortenson will play Spike Spiegel in a live adaptation of the anime classic Cowboy Bebop.
Peter Jackson was set to direct the film. "I've always loved Cowboy Bebop," he said. "And of course I've worked with Viggo before. His wide resume I think prepared him well for this role."
When Mortenson was asked for his thoughts on playing the bounty hunter of animated fame, he said "I feel like my roles in History of Violence and Eastern Promises prepared me especially for the role because I shot a lot of guns in those."
Other actors set to star in the film are Catherine Zeta Jones as Faye Valentine, Samuel L. Jackson as Jet, and Gary Coleman as Ed.

ADV films has filed bankruptcy. They have release a statement saying they plan not to re-build and are closing there doors. Also in the statement they stated that is all the fansubers fault that we are shutting down because of them.
Sad sad day for anime.

Crunchyroll does it again!!!
Due to the success of Gonzo putting its anime on Crunchyroll. Production I.G will be doing the same starting in the fall season of 2008 it start working with Crunchyroll and only Crunchyroll on putting same day release on new anime. Woot Crunchyroll!!!!

Anime-Pulse those great podcasting guys are breaking up. There will be no more podcast Ichigo as stated that he hated everyone and he is moving back to Alaska. Batou has not made any comments at this time but I will be update as soon as I can.

The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly rolls out with a spiffy new article all about the new Speed Racer film coming out on May 9th. The Wachowskis, best known for their "Matrix" trilogy, may just be turning Speed into an action-packed... family film?
The film's producer Joel Silver told Entertainment Weekly reporters that the siblings refused to talk to reporters, "but what the boys told me ... was that they watched and loved the Speed Racer cartoon as kids. That's what attracted them to the project. They wanted to make a movie the whole family could enjoy."
Yes, sir... an anime-based film your grandma would approve of. From the exclusive images given to Entertainment Weekly show slick, edgy graphics complete with killer race snapshots and splendid backgrounds. The actors were filmed mainly in front of a green screen, letting the graphic arts department flex their CGI prowess. It's wicked-sweet visually, leading us to all hope that it delivers story-wise as well.

As reported on the anime-pulse podcast on friday Gonzo is starting a revolution!!
The Japanese media company GDH has announced that the YouTube, Crunchyroll, and BOST online video services will be streaming new titles from GDH's Gonzo animation studio — worldwide and on the same day as their Japanese broadcast. The video streams, which will be in Japanese with English subtitles, will start with The Tower of Druaga: the Aegis of Uruk and Blassreiter anime series. Druaga will premiere on April 4, and Blassreiter will premiere on April 5.
