I just hope that somebody points out that he's lumped a PG-13 series (Gurren Lagann) with a NC-17 OVA (Legend of the Overfiend). Also there is so much non-anime cartoon porn material out, especially online, that I don't see how it makes a difference.

I do agree with you on most points but Family Guy is shown on CN's Adult Swim block at 10pm, a time when most children are sleeping. If they're up and watching it then that means they're old enough to be watching it and if not then that's a parental issue. Its called Adult Swim for a reason.
Excuse me?! The usual conservative christian jargon!?
I'm conservative and I don't believe anime is corupting anyone. I'll admit there are quite a few conservative nutcases out there, but there are just as many liberal nutcases.
You know, what's even weirder (and possibly more offensive) is that the article is under the "Health/Sexual Health" sections instead of "Entertainment." >>;

I guess I must be dumb for seeing Gurren lagann as a science fiction comedy, and not the sexually explicit show that it really is. Oh, thank you guy who looks like Tom Hanks from the Da Vinci Code, for saying it as it is. Really, only a man of your caliber could say something so blatantly offensive and insulting on a level that is so, I think the words I’m looking for are “unprecedented” and “thick-witted.” I may even throw in “shopworn” and “affront” just so you know exactly how insulting it is. Though I am wondering why I am writing this comment in the style of a personal reply, as your civic display of stupidity shows little to no information from reliable sources.
Or in other words…
Dude, isn’t it kind of stupid to bring up the whole “Comics are sexually explicit and all who read them are perverts” argument from the sixties? Honestly, it’s just childish to make such a fuss over an illustrated story, and it’s just stupid to insinuate that all otaku are sex obsessed nut cases. Sure, there are some edgy things out there, but the .5% of edgy material dose not give you the right to insinuate such things. It’s like saying “All Germans are Nazis” or “God thinks the (Insert anything you want in here) should be destroyed, for they are corrupting us.” And even if your argument was focused on the bad things out there for that one think, those same bad things exist in practically everything else. But what really gets me is your title. To say otakudom is just an erotic subculture, for shame.
Still, iv no idea as to why I am writing this as a personal reply. But I would deeply enjoy hearing the guy explain just exactly what ‘American morals’ are in detail. Iv got ten bucks that says he either gets tongue tied or preaches the usual ‘conservative Christian’ jargon.
well now.... I didn't read the whole article, just what was posted here. Mainly because I hate being sterotyped like that, so I feel like I've read enough. Saying that anime-lovers or otaku are all porn-loving freaks is the same as saying every girl at Starbucks wearing Ambercrombie & Fitch is a slutty *itch. That's my opinion anyway... He must not be aware of the US's own problems, showing shows like Family Guy on Cartoon Network every night, a children's network of all channels... That doesn't exactly help the problem. So maybe he should look into the parental responsibility, instead of attacking a country's culture and blaming them, he should talk about what parents need to do to keep their kids away from such things. And he's acting like Japanese culture and anime are the only factor, what about our very own American culture and what we display in the? XP

I love how they think anime fans like anime because of the sexual content.
You know, sometimes anime also has a story and characters that people tend to like. Just an idea.
