Oh that's so annoying when you can't find what you want, and when you do find it, it's so expensive.
I haven't read Mermaid Saga. The only other thing of hers I've seen/read is Ranma 1/2
I still definitely want to see it. Oh and I know they're putting out Rumiko's Mermaid Saga again in collector's edition I think in November. I've never been able to find it cheap enough before as most people selling it are private collectors and wanting $40+ per book so I'm excited for that.

Ah, I can understand time restraint! I just get too anxious waiting for more episodes to come out and end up reading the manga. Still have one site I use periodically. I'm working my way through the 16th Demon Slayer book because I couldn't take the cliff hanger ending of the first season! The manga is happily much farther along! I get what you mean though about needing to finish a series! I applaud your choices of devotion!I just recently finished acquiring all the rest of Inuyasha after years! Hurray for big viz editions!
I love Sho's character development. He was so shallow in the beginning, but that is starting to change and develop. So I find it interesting. And I love jealous Ren. It's the best.
I've heard of the author's other story but have yet to check it out. I don't read much manga anymore once all my usual sites got taken down and I just stopped having the time. I keep up with Skip Beat and Akatsuki no Yona. They're my favorite, so I can't imagine not continuing to read until the end!
Yes!!! I adore Skip Beat! The love triangle is amazing and Ren gets scary intense over it! Sho is such a likable jerk too. I think I like that there is always a reason for why the characters act the way they do. They're not just surface deep. I was sad that the anime wasn't longer as well, but at least the manga is still going strong! I actually got into Skip Beat because I read another series by the same author called Tokyo Crazy Paradise. Very different plot line, but really a good read! Main character is another very strong female with good morales. Lead male character is definitely the tough guy secretly nice guy type.
A SKIP BEAT FAN!!! YAY! I'm only on chapter 39 because I'm waiting for the big books that have 3 chapters in one to come out to buy it and read it then. So I'm not as up to date, but I do love that show and manga. I wish the anime had another season. I actually really love the love triangle between Ren/Sho/Kyoko. I do agree she's really relatable, until things like fairies and whatnot get brought up. lol But I agree she is a fun character. And I'm so excited I found a fan!

Can't go wrong with Ranma 1/2! It and Card Captor Sakura were the first mangas I started collecting!

That's pretty much how I feel about it too.

I plan too, but knowing that Rumiko is only acting as a support and not the main writer I'm not getting my expectations too high!

Speaking on Inuyasha, you going to watch the sequel series?
