Yeah, I need to get teeth taken out during surgery. The Orthodontist said that my teeth are crowded, so they are and grow closer together. My back top and bottom molars are impacted, so they are only grown half way through the gums because there isn't enough room for them to grow fully. So they need to come out :P

Oh thats ok! Those Damon ones look pretty cool! And its nice that they are smaller too. My sister has been changing all the colours of her braces as she goes. She actually has a missing adult tooth so her orthodontist work was a lot more complex then mine.

Thats good, at least u have time to plan it out :D And its good that the work has already started! When I got braces, I was so anxious to even agree to them but once it got going, I was very happy everything was working ;)

I wish I did They said that their older design you got to choose the band colours. But the newer model is just plain metal, but the brackets do look smaller ahah! I have the damon braces design, compared to the traditional, but they still have little coloured bits in them ahah! But I don't need bands sadly, since I am having the surgery, I don't think the bands will do much ahah! :P

awww thanks, the surgery won't be happening until next year sometimes, so I have a while before I do it aha, and I will need to see and speak with the surgeon and what not.

Ah totally... Of course, I didn't have it so bad but my sister, brother, and my dad got braces recently and I heard a lot of complaining xD haha. That is so cool and awesome!! I'm so happy for you!!! Do u get to choose colours for your brace elastics too? :3

ahah yeah, I get that alot! My bottom jaw rubs against my cheeks, and it was really uncomfortable so I used my handy dandy wax aha. But my cheeks are getting use to it so it's all good!

ahah awwww don't feel bad! I'm sure the orthodontist knew what they where doing and what you needed to achieve your best results! It also depends on how the condition your teeth/jaw is in, and breakages can prolong treatment also. :P

ahah! The metal braces aren't so bad, just only when you get them first on >_O It takes several days to get use to, and the roots of your teeth feel sore. But I think they are kinda cool ahah! I feel better smiling with them, than I did with out them. I look super forward to the final results, though that won't be happening until near the end of next year :P I have been waiting 7 or 8 year for braces and my jaw to be fixed ahah. And know it's happening! Well, I'm on the way there.

AHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Yeah! ahah! He just has very nice facial features ahaha! xD I have a tooth that's getting a filling, so he said he would miss that one for now until it's filled. So in May, I get to go back there ahah! xD And during surgery, I'm assuming the Orthodontist and surgeon work together so- >.> ahah! xD

Awww thanks Jenny! I'll have several ouchies during the surgery. It's going to be a lot of work to get through it all, but lets hope for the best!

And here I thought it was pretty common for people to have braces that long. Now I feel like my teeth were really messed up. Then again, I didn't get the full set at first; just some on my front teeth. I got them on all my teeth quite some time later.

Ooh, about the rubbing on the inside of your cheeks, I think they can give (or sell) you some kind of wax that you put over the braces so they don't cut into your cheeks. I had that happen with the inside of my lower lip and it left these weird tabs behind O_o

But my Orthodontist is a very nice looking man, so I don't mind have these babies on for 2 years ahah!

I am nervous about the surgery because I need Advancement of the lower jaw and upward repositioning of the upper jaw. So, from what I take from it is, they are going to cut and extend my lower jaw, and they are going to cut my upper jaw and reposition it. I read stories from people who have had it, and your jaw is swollen and bruised after surgery and takes several weeks to heal.

But it will all be worth it in the end. They said that my facial structure will change! Which I am looking kinda forward to.

Yeah, it depends on the individual and the teeth/jaw that depends on how long you wear them. Sometimes it's 6 month, or 18-24 months like me ahah.

Kyaaaa you are so cute and the braces look great! I got invisalign which is similar to braces... I agree tho, its all worth it! I wasn't so keen on getting anything like braces at all, but I'm so glad I did <3 I'm sure that after your braces come off and if u have surgery, you'll be so proud of the changes! even though I think ur beautiful already <3 Good luck!

Aww yay for the Braces^^ And you're not a geek at all and don't let people tell you that..The braces looks amazing and after two years you'll have amazing teeth and your jaw will be fixed^^ Good luck my friend..

P.S I didn't even know you have to wear braces for 2 whole years? oO' but I'm supporting you on that

Yeah, every time you get them adjusted, your teeth are going to be sore for the first few days. But then it goes away and you're good until the next adjustment.

I had braces for a year and a month (and then I decided to get my really short--at the time; it's waist-length now--hair permed >.< Big mistake). The things was, for me, because of how my bottom teeth were, the brace on one of the teeth just popped off the first afternoon >_< So they had to use some metal spring spacer before gluing another brace onto that tooth.

Sorry to hear about the surgery, but like you said, it'll be beneficial. All I can say is follow your orthodontist's instructions and directions and you might actually shorten the amount of time you have to wear them (my orthodontist told me to wear these rubber bands on my braces for jaw alignment every night--I couldn't open my jaw with them on XD--and he said because I did it for the whole week and didn't miss any days it shortened the amount of time I had to wear them).

They look pretty tidy ^^

I had braces. I had them for about five or six years. The funny thing is that I got mine in April, too. I forget what month it was when I got them off, though.

I had braces for about a year and half. They aren't so bad, and you get used to them really quickly ^^ I hope everything goes smoothly with the jaw surgery once it comes time for it!
