I think it really helps a discussion when you've got reliable sources to work with. Take a couple of news items that SomeGuy submitted, where I commented on them. There were plenty of great sources out there that both the author of the news item and the commentator of the item could work with. As someone who has a chance to question or interpret an item, having access to plenty of great information is helpful. I don't run into a wall or, maybe even worse, get stuck in a tiny maze with no exit on news nuggets with reliable sources.

But that wasn't the case with this item I dropped. Digging around for more info on it was like that scene in Spinal Tap where they get lost backstage.

I did the rounds again earlier today, and things still haven't really changed. Kinda brings tears to my own eyes, but not quite the same as yours, haha.

That's the problem when news falls into the shaky area of sensationalism. Facts tend to get lost in the hype.

It brings a tear to my eye to see someone actually thinking about how worthwhile his sources are.
