I've never read the manga, or even seen any of its art. That might be why I'm more forgiving of the art-style than many others. As for the character designs, it seems no one's getting out of it looking pretty! I don't mind if it's not full of attractively animated characters, as long as the story remains captivating.
I'll admit that there are some places in there where the rotoscoping looks a tad strange (I can't remember the scene, but one of the characters looked out of proportion). I bet that the art will be a contentious issue as the series progresses, haha.

Yeah, the rotoscoping is pretty much all anyone on 4chan talks about in relation to this show. I personally found the art style interesting, though I could understand why fans of the manga might be put off by such a drastic change.
Also I think some people are just upset that the female characters are no longer as cute-looking as they were in the manga. ^^;;
I will have to go and look for the eerie to join you on those comments.The eerie really looks interesting and it haves many detailed information.Seems that, or so i was imagining at the start of the reading.I think it's hard to be fond or circus music and even more to be ready to deal with many things ur not usually related.

I thought the rotoscope art was OK for the most part, except in the one shot where the girl intimidated the teacher. I thought that looked laughable rather than scary (whereas the manga makes it look more intimidating like, "What is up with this girl??").
The music and stuff was pretty good! Reminded me a lot of David Lynch.
