My advice is to lighten up the background slightly. Their hair seems to disappear into it. Also, Alice's legs might be a bit to skinny. Other than that, it looks really good-- especially the scarf.

And with the background, I was trying to get a moonlit starry night with fireflies... I'm not sure that worked yet...

The only thing is that maybe you can add some shadows and highlights? I think that would really pop out the characters. :)

as for the background I think it looks fine! it's nice and simple! : )

It already looks pretty good! :o The clothing is really detailed. Maybe try using a darker color for the shadows?

Miki always wears that scarf too, and it glows when his eye does~ But I forgot, in our RP it would be his RIGHT eye that's covered, because that's the yellow eye...
Anyway, I hate the background... I can't figure out what to do so I tried to copy you because I can think of nothing on my own but it didn't work... I can't make stars... >.>

I like how it is at the moment, I especially love Miki's scarf, I want one :D <3 but what aren't you sure of??
