Welcome to Creative Community!

About UsMembers ListRulesResourcesLessons • Event HistoryCritiquesJobsContact Us

This is a WORLD full of resources dedicated to the aspiring artists of theOtaku of all kinds. The term 'artist' is not limited to the categories on theOtaku. Art can range from sculptures, photography, writing, film, graphic art, and much more! We will have a collection of various tutorials and references to offer that will help you improve and learn new skills in whatever you specialize. However, in order to improve, one must also receive feedback on their work. The members of the Creative Community will be available to provide critiques and aid you on your journey as an artist.

Along with the goal of assisting other artists, this is, after all, a community, and we would like to also make this a place where you can meet new people that share your same interests. This is a friendly haven that will hopefully bring together the many members of theO.

If you wish to join this community, please subscribe so you can receive notification on when new things are posted and fill out an application. Members who have subscribed and sent in an application will be given the Guest Poster privilege, and will be able to ask for critiques on their work. To maintain Guest Poster privilege, please provide critiques to other users so everyone can benefit.

This site is designed to run without a lot of supervision. Features such as critiques and corrections depend on the activity of members. Administrators have the responsibility of coming up with events and updating the website every now and then. So please act appropriately and stay friendly.

Title: Week 4 - June 23: Pirates' Treasure
Type of Event: Weekly
Introduction: This is a collaboration piece. The art-focused members will be creating a pirate who has "become one with the sea" and is inspired by one thing from a list of sea-related creatures/objects. You will be working with one and receiving their input to write a 1-2 page story of their origin, their daily life, etc.
Instructions: Communicate with the member you are paired with. Make sure you ask important questions (like the character's name, their looks, their personality, etc.) and work closely with them as they progress with their project. Make changes to your story as their picture changes; consistency is important. This may be difficult, as you may need to change your story multiple times throughout the week, so don't finalize anything until the last day.

June - Writing Monthly Challenge: Writing Assessment

Today marks the beginning of the Creative Community challenges! Please view the Event History post for June 2014 to see what other challenges are planned for this month. Monthly challenges begin on the first day of that month and end on the last day of that month. Please dedicate your challenge entries to CreativeCommunity so we can see your artwork.

Type of Event: Monthly Challenge
Supervisor: WyvernWings
Introduction: Submit one writing piece every week for assessment. I would like you to submit a piece immediately so I can track your progress and offer critiques, comments, etc.
Instructions: Please submit one new piece every week. The challenge is for each piece to be in different type of writing. For example, the first week you may submit a poem, the second week you may submit a short story, the third week you may submit a short scene, and the fourth week you may submit a chapter of a novel. That is one example. Another way to do this would be to write in four different genres, or four different types of poetry, though I would prefer you intermingle prose and poetry. For poetry, the minimum is 14 lines, and for prose, the minimum is one page double-spaced.
