No prob, it was my pleasure :] And pixel fonts are "ugly" because most use them as they would use non-pixel ones, with huge sizes and the wrong anti-aliasing, so if the text appears blurry/jagged they say the fonts are "useless".
Everyone is telling me the bitmap/pixel fonts are ugly XD But I think they're great for avatars, at least just for practicing. Thank you for the non-pixel fonts! And for all the tips! I'm gonna start practicing avatar making! X33
Hey! Well, I use mostly pixel fonts for text which I want to be visible, I think they're designed specifically for icons since they're clear only when they're small. Also, most bitmap fonts look clear at a size around 6-9px and with None or Sharp anti-aliasing (speaking for PS CS2, I don't use other programs). Here are the fonts I use most of the time, both pixel and non-pixel ones.

Another effect that's particularly good for making font stand out is Drop Shadows, with a Distance of 1-2px, Spread of 0px and Size of 2px; you can mess around with the Opacity and the Blending Mode too, but I generally leave it at Multiply, 70%. Also, a Gaussian contour (sixth option, from left to right in the drop-down menu under Quality) and Noise of 0%. Like this.
