Tell me about it. I absolutely hate the actor they picked to play HP's part (Daniel Radcliffe). He tries too much to be like some kind of emo, misunderstood superhero but he's just pathetic, in my opinion. All the movies were relatively off from the books' storyline and I was extremely disappointed in HP 5, especially. I watched it with a friend and had to explain almost everything to her, else she wouldn't have understood much.
I watched PD too, I find it cute and a nice romantic comedy. They don't make 'em like they used to nowadays.
Well, I don't know much about YGO! but those extra things were probably added to make more items to sell - like all the staffs of Sailor Moon, you can still find them for sale even after all these years. If an anime is successful, merchandise produced concerning it is successful.
I love the POTC films too, they're a good example of how films should be done. I still have some issues with Orlando Bloom, sometimes he acts a bit too heroic for his own good but he makes up for it throughout the films. Johnny Depp's performance was top-notch, and I'm not saying this because I'm a fan! :)
Lol it's ok, blabbing is what this blog is all about I'm glad you found my article useful! It's actually painful to see how many recent films copy the classics, there's basically no more originality around.
Also I love Pirates of the Carribean movies. It happens I own all three. The story is great and it hooks you in. Sorry but Johnny Depp,Orlando Bloom, and Kira Knightly do a good job acting. It's so beleivable. It's like you're right there on the ship with them, fighting evil and whatnot. Sorry I think I've blabbed enough heh.
Hmm a movie I like and don't like. There are alot of movies I like and there are alot of them I hate. Well one I don't really care for the Spider Man movies or any of the remake superhero movies for that matter. They're ok but not great in my opinion. One movie I don't like is Harry Potter 3. It was way off from the book's storyline and it was kind of boring. The actors seemed to be off and they changed the directors too quick. The movie was ok but not great because they really lacked originallity and it felt like they bummrushed the actors too much. Mainly it feels like they didn't take their time and it wasn't that good
Ok there are a few movies I really enjoy. One would have to be the Princess Diaries because it is a good tale and it was well told. I felt like they did a good job at putting the movie together. It's about a girl named Mia and she finds out from her grandma who happens to be the queen of Genovia that she is a princess of the same country. It goes through and everyone finds out, the media has a hayday and then it winds down and Mia goes to Genovia to live. I like the romance aspect of it and the way they made the movie. I really liked it.
Another one I liked is Yu-Gi-Oh:The Movie. I thought it was pretty good but I thought it was a bit rushed. I felt they could have done the animation a bit better and showed Joey dueling more. Sorry I'm a Joey Wheeler fan as well as a Kaiba fan. Basically it's about Kaiba wanting to find a way to beat the god cards and he goes to Pegasus's island and gets these cards. During their duel, Kaiba gets really cocky and this old evil supposedly existed and he interfeared. Personally they could have kept him out and I didn't like the way they made a temporary millenium item. I thought that part was pretty stupid and it detracts hugely from the original story. It was ok but not exceptionaly great. I still like it because I'm a Yu-Gi-Oh fan though.
Those would do it for the films I dislike and like. Movies these days are losing their quality and alot of the same stories are repeated. I would definitely agree with that. Also I enjoyed reading your essay. It was really great and very useful. There are still some movies that come along and you are just awed by it. Enchanted was one for me. A fairy tale in New York, imagine? Well anyway this concludes my opinion on great and crappy movies. Again I enjoyed this post. Great job writing it.
Hm, I've heard of "No country for old men", but I haven't seen it. I'm planning to, though. It's a shame that the ending can sometimes ruin an otherwise good film. 80's movies are some of my favorite as well!
Wow. I always thought you were an amazing film critic, Oli-chan!! Did you submit this to be published on here? You really should!!
I totally agree. *nods* Movies these days are so low-grade! Sure, there are some that are outstanding, but I gotta say that the majority have the same type of plot...they're not creative, and when they try to be, it usually fails!
I wish I could give two examples, but I honestly don't watch that many movies to begin with. ^^;;;; The last movie I saw in the theaters was No Country for Old Men. It was reallllllly good...but the ending was a total bust for me. Sure, it was going for the "now it's your turn to think of what the meaning of that was!" deal...but I like closure! I tend to like 80's movies...or classics...or older comedies. You can't beat a Mel Brooks film! At least in my opinion anyway. XD
Great job with this essay. :3 And thanks for all the move tips! Take care!

And unimportant addition...I love Bob Hope movies. Definitely "classics" to me. :3
Okies, I'm done with my totally non-professional movie opinions!
