I know how you feel. Not only the cast and incision pitched for me but the pain medication made me itchy too. It was a miserable time. I hope it gets more comfortable for you soon.
Thank you so much. There's no way I couldn't pop in from time to time. I'd miss them to much. Especially my buddy on third floor. He has dementia so his memory isn't great but, he does remember bits and pieces of things. He'd wheel behind me while I was working and talk about supernatural with me, or about ducks and Ford cars. I swear, if it were possible if have taken him with me.
I plan on working hard and getting in a doctor's office around town once I finish school. That way, there's a chance I can see everyone then too and I can be more helpful ^^
I was going to ask if you plan on visiting from time to time. I often wonder how my old regular customers from the cafe are doing, perhaps I get attached to folks to easily, haha. I'm sure that a visit will mean a lot to the residents, I bet they'll miss you too!
My Mum was a nurse before working in a residential care home for kids, so I know the work is tough, but also so rewarding. I think as long as you keep trying hard then you'll do well. You already have a caring nature so that must help a lot! Good luck to you~!
Thanks so much. I was afraid I wasn't caring for them properly. I was forgetting things I normally wouldn't you know? They deserve better than that. There's a lot of people there I care about a lot. Some got really close to me. I think I'll go back to visit them every now and again.
Okami actually gave me the idea a while ago to go back to school. I was nervous about it at first. The nursing program is very competitive here but, seeing him have do much faith in me I decided to believe in myself a little too and give it my best. Not only would the end goal make us more money, but it would help me be more helpful to the residents too ^^
It's a hard job. It's something not everyone can do and unfortunately, you don't find that out until you try it. It's got a lot to do with management too. If you don't have good management, those problems happen
I think you've made the right decision. Burning yourself out wouldn't do yourself or the residents any favours. Conditions there sounded more than stressful, you're tougher than a lot of people for sticking it out so long. I'm glad you have a new goal to strive for, that always helps ^^ I wish you all the best for that! Take care~!
Well, good for you for quitting. That sounds absolutely terrible and they have no right to treat you like that.
It's funny, I know someone else who works in a nursing home, and she complains about the same sorts of things happening there. I wonder what it is about those places?
Thank you so much. It wasn't easy choosing this, I care about the residents a lot. I'll miss seeing them everyday but, I couldn't take those conditions anymore. I'm very relieved today was my last day.
Also I'm glad you're doing well after surgery and back home again. I was worried about you.
It must have been a hard choice, but I think you made the right decision. If a job affects your sanity in a bad way, it's time to leave. I wish you luck on the road ahead.

@SmallxLady:
For me, it's the incisions themselves that are itchy. I'm not on any pain meds.

I'm getting better every day. Still a little itchy, though.
