If it is making links on another website then it would depend on the coding of that website. I think theO uses BB code, while some websites (myspace for example) use HTML.
I think the method I described in my last comment will work elsewhere, many other places use similar means of creating links - you can do that on emails too.
To add a link you type a word you want to have as the link, highlight the word and click on the symbol on the top of the text box that looks like a world with a chain next to it (the icon underneath the cat).
Copy your link into this box and click ok ^^ you should then have the link code wrapped around your word, and when you submit your post/comment it will be a link.
