Robin Goodfellow

He laughed twirling them around making her giggle from the feeling of wind on her neck. She should have been weirded out by all this, but like in a dream, she wasn’t. Then suddenly the music stopped and he pulled away from her, his smile, gone. “I cannot tell you what I am. What I can say is no, I’m not human. But as I have certain powers I have endeavored to make you happy. It is no small feat to intrigue me, my dearest Olivia.”

It all came flooding back into her mind. Connor, Lena and Ms. Adler. “You did it. All of it. You hurt Connor and….. Lena she’s in the hospital.” She covered her mouth, stomach twisting into knots.

“I simply did what you could not. What you didn’t have the courage to do yourself.” He said as if he hadn’t a care in the world.

“No.” Self-loathing came over her. What had she done? “I would have never wished harm to come to anyone. I just don’t like being treated like nothing. I would have never...” She looked directly at him. The need to stop being angry tried to take her but she forced it away. “Fix it. I know you can.” How she knew, she wasn’t sure.

“No.” He said simply leaning suddenly against the wall with is arms crossed.

“What do you mean no? Please.”

“Why should I? It’s not like I killed anyone. I just maimed them for life. Connor has brain damage and can never play football again. Although no one else knows it yet.” He chuckled darkly. “Maybe he’ll understand how it feels to be outcast now. And Lena, she’ll never open her mouth to malign you ever again. And Ms. Alder…well perhaps I could have come up with something better but you were vague on the idea so….oh well.” With every word he spoke the fear she was suppose to feel before exploded in her. She turned and ran down the halls. Into the darkness she turned the corner running her hand along the wall so she didn’t fall. There had to be a way out. When she turned another corner she stopped dead. There he was again and she was back where she started.
