That made her pause, but only for a second. She pulled her hand from his and opened the door slamming it behind her. “What a jerk!” She screamed out leaning against the door.

She spent the rest of the weekend in the house but after what happened on the porch she didn’t even feel like reading. So she just stared out her window. What a pathetic life she had. On Monday she had to drag herself out the door. She’d been so looking forward to taking part in the play she didn’t think past it. Now what? Walking to school she didn’t care she was an hour late.

“Miss Aster. You’re late.” The principle said stepping out of his office as she was signing in.

“Sorry Mr. Morgan. I slept in.” Pulling her backpack up on her shoulder she went straight to science class. When she came in the teacher gave her the warning look and motioned for her to find a seat. Unfortunately and in accordance with her luck the only seat open was right beside Rob.

Numbly she sat beside him looking straight ahead. She had to focus hard on the chalkboard because she could feel him staring at her.

“Hey Disaster, tell your boyfriend to stop staring at me.” Laura Ford said, Laura Ford the best friend of Lena and Aura. The triplets who were usually inseparable. But Liv realized she hadn’t seen Lena.

“Where’s Lena?“ She found herself asking. Though what came over her she didn’t know.

“As if it’s any of your business but she’s in the hospital.” Laura shifted in her seat like she was uncomfortable talking about it. “Last week she came down with a bad case of Laryngitis and it spread. I didn’t even know it could do that.”
