Night of the Owls To Be Multi-Comic Story Arc Event

I was going to post about this, but I wanted to wait until all the essential information at DC Comics.com is uploaded before I share the news. So far, Batman has defeated William Cobb (the current-day Talon) in the Court of Owls' maze in Batman (Vol. 2) No. 6, which closed the "Court of Owls" story arc (if you don't count the epilogue moment to be told in Issue no. 7, coming out in March). However, the court is prepared to start the next phase of terror, involving an attempt to conquer all of Gotham with aid of resurrected members of the Talon legacy and taking it out on those close to Batman. Get ready as DC Comics will be launching in May, a comic book event where nine "DC New 52" ongoing comic book series will each open a story arc at Issue 9 to tie in to an overall concept, rather than have an issue of one series continue in an issue of another to continue in an issue in another (as in case of the "Death of Superman" story arc). While the story arc starting in Batman (Vol. 2) No. 9 will start the main arc featuring Batman's next battle against the Court of Owls (with issue 8 serving as prologue to this), the rest of the series to take part in this event will each feature a separate encounter with the Court within this multi-arc event, and according to Batman writer Scott Snyder, you don't need to read one "Night of the Owls" story arc in one series to understand one of anther series. The events are listed below:

  • Catwoman (Vol. 4): Catwoman Vs. 1660 Talon
  • Batman and Robin (Vol. 2): Damian Al Ghul/Robin Vs. 1770s Talon
  • Birds of Prey (Vol. 3): the birds of Prey Vs. 1840s Talon
  • Batwing: David Zavimbe/Batwing Vs. 1870 Talon
  • All Star Western (Vol. 3): Jonah Hex Vs. 1880s Talon (this series' "Night of the Owls" arc is he only one set in the 19th century while the other tie-in arcs are set in present day)
  • Batgirl (Vol. 4) : Barbera Gordon Vs. 1940s Talon
  • Red Hood and the Outlaws: Jason Todd/Red Hood Vs. Talon from the 1980s
  • Detective Comics (Vol. 2): The connection between the Court of Owls and Arkham Asylum, Gotham's institute for the crimanally insane
  • Batman (Vol. 2): Batman battling the 1950s Talon after fighting William Cobb
  • Nightwing (Vol. 3): Dick Grayson battles Saiko while searching for secrets behind Black Book of Names (which contain's his name and that of William Cobb)
