News: Batman Holds #1 Place in a Brit Mag's Greatest Comic Heroes Top 10

This week, British website theguardian, announces that British magazine series Comic Heroes has released its top 10 list of the greatest comic heroes, which was conducted from collecting votes from readers, and according to magazine editor Jes Bickham, Batman is placed at No. 1 in the listed based on votes, despite Superman ranking No. 1 in Empire's 2008 top 10 list of greatest comic heroes.

Bickman has this to say regarding what he consider's the possible reason for Batman earning his ranking in the top 10: "Batman doesn't have superpowers; he gets by with his mind, his wit and his physical abilities. He's dark, conflicted and tragic, yet never less than the best of us. He's got the best costume and the finest gadgets. His rogues' gallery is the most frightening and freakish collection of villains ever assembled; a cavalcade of criminality unmatched in modern comics. He's also strong enough to fit almost any story, being constantly remoulded by writers and artists since his creation in 1939."

Batman of course isn't the only DC Universe hero included in the mag's 2011 top 10 list of greatest comic heroes: the others included are Superman (at # 3), and Wonder Woman (at #8). The Marvel unvierse hereos included are Spider-Man (at # 2), Wolverine (at # 4), Captain America (at # 7), and The Thing (at # 10). The only comic heroes not of either DC Universe or Marvel Universe to be included are Judge Dredd (at # 5), Tintin (at # 6), and The Spirit (at # 9).

Batman may be one of the collest superheroes Ive known, but I was expecting Superman to have #1 place for his image as a boyscout with invulnerabilty against anything physical harm by man, but I guess the voters have their opinions when voting on characters.
