I agree, I still like Yuri more (lol). He's a bit over-dramatic about, like, everything he does but at least he's not an arrogant bastard for most of the series.
I hunted down the OAVs when I watched it the first time and I've re-watched the Extra Stage one about Rosetta. I'm not sure if I'm going to watch the other two again.
Haha, I didn't even realize he had earrings. Goes to show how observant I am... I reeeally hated Leon and May at the beginning of season 2, but of course I ended up liking them both by the end. I'd say that Yuri's turnaround was the most impressive, though.

I don't think clip-ons would work for this. Leon's are just two little studs in the earlobe rather than actual rings. But I've never looked into earrings so I'm not sure.

I'll probably have to go for it since the rest of the outfit would be fairly easy—except for the earrings, I'm not piercing my ears.
You can use clip earrings you know. :p Then you get your costume effect and your ears stay intact!
