I'm only sending out about 380 kbps (i.e. 47.5 KB/s) for my streams since my upload bandwidth is low and that's nearly maxing it. So as long as you don't have dial-up, you can probably watch my streams okay.
I'll probably put up a post a bit before I start streaming, but the amount of advance notice will depend on how sudden my urge to play something is. Though if you have a Justin.tv account, I think if you follow my channel you can set it to email you whenever I start streaming.

It's decently fast, but not enough for streams, I guess.
