Chunin Exams

Pre-Exam

Katsu, completely ignoring the crowd of students gathered at the elevator, walked straight to a door at the end of the hall.

"Uh..." Satomi said. "Shouldn't we be going to the third floor?"

"Baka. We are on the third floor. Those idiots blocking the elevator also put a genjustu on everyone to make the sign look different. The sign-ups should be at the end of this hall."

Gulping, Satomi looked at Shin.

"Well..." Shin said in his usual quiet, tired manner. "We should trust him. He knows the most about genjutsu."

As much as she hated to admit it, Shin was probably right in believing Katsu. She followed him through the door to a room with some chunin behind the desk, taking note of who and who wasn't coming.

After handing them her recommendation from her squad leader, she was ushered through a door to where other genin were gathered. Looking around her, the sheer number of people who were trying to become chunin scared her. How the heck was she supposed to beat all these people? Her mind began to freeze up, her hands breaking out into a cold sweat.

Shin nudged her. Looking up, though she couldn't see his face for his jacket or eyes for his goggles, she could tell he was worried about her. Her heart ached with longing as she remembered the Academy days when they were still friends before the long hours of training and newly discovered friends had slowly pulled them apart. She smiled at him, giving both him and herself a reassurance that they'll both pass.

Soon they were all moved into what looked like a normal classroom and was directed to pre-determined seats. She nervously noticed that both Katsu and Shin weren't next to her in any way. Whatever they were doing here, she wouldn't be getting any help from them.
