Which Florida Town Just Won the Title of "America's Best Food City?"
The cost of eating at restaurants, like the cost of everything else, is rising. Actually, between drift hunters August 2022 and August 2023, restaurant costs increased by 6.5%, as reported on the personal finance website WalletHub. Even if you're on a tight budget, living in one of the best gastronomic towns in the nation doesn't mean you can't go out and have fun on sometimes.
The 2023 edition of WalletHub's greatest Foodie Cities in America study has just been published, highlighting the greatest and most inexpensive local food scenes throughout the United States. Researchers concluded that Orlando, Florida, was the best city in America in terms of cuisine. As WalletHub pointed out, "Orlando has the most ice cream and frozen yogurt shops," which was a huge factor in the city's victory in this category. Orlando also ranked well in terms of pricing and has a strong concentration of coffee shops and specialty food markets relative to its population size.
WalletHub also named Portland, Sacramento, Miami, San Francisco, Tampa, San Diego, Las Vegas, Austin, and Seattle among the best U.S. cities for food.
Some notable cities outside the top 10 were also highlighted in WalletHub's rankings. The poll found that although Miami had the most restaurants, St. Louis had the most gourmet specialty-food outlets.
The rankings were determined by comparing over 180 of the largest cities in the United States on 28 different dimensions, such as the availability and affordability of high-quality restaurants, the density of food festivals, the concentration of craft breweries and wineries, the variety of restaurants, and the number of Michelin stars.
