Maybe they just have like three set sizes, and they gave you the largest. I doubt they really customized it. :/ or maybe they got inches and centimeters confused. Sweet! That's a neat-o costume. I think you would look good in that costume. Plus, because you're tall and lean, you would simulate a CLAMP character... Lol Be sure to tkae many many pictures while at the NYAF! *wishes she could be there too*

Anyway, ahhhh I hate it when that happens! Mostly when I order clothes online and when they get here, they don't fit me at all. =( But I'm glad your seamstress will be able to alter it for ya. =D (I like the cosplay outfit btw, it's really nicely made)
Ugh, I hope you find a way to fit belly dancing classes in your schedule. I would hate it if you get stressed out even more because you won't be able to take the classes. ='(
