Chapter 12
Living with Lawliet was exactly like when I stayed with him. Although still he was hardly at home or at school and only Watanuki could keep me company on the many weeks that he was away. I grew very lonely. “Why isn’t Lawliet ever home?” I asked Watanuki once at dinner. Watanuki sighed but didn’t reply. I’d noticed that in Lawliet’s house he kept many sweets and whenever he was home he was usually having tea or eating a cake. One night when I was staying up late, watching homicide files as that was all the channels Lawliet seemed to have, the door opened. I turned around and there was Lawliet. I was overjoyed. He hadn’t been home in two weeks. I sprung from the couch and ran into him, holding him in my arms. “Quite the welcome committee.” Lawliet said with a smile. “Welcome home.” I said, looking up at him. “I’ll go get you some tea and cake.” I said fetching his favorite glass and adding an extra sugar cube, making eleven in total. I took out some cheesecake and set it on a plate. I sat him down on the couch and gave it to him. “Thanks.” Lawliet said. “What case is it?” Lawliet asked, eyeing the T.V. “A popular store owner was shot, no trace of forced entry.” I answered. Within a few minutes of talking to the suspects Lawliet proclaimed that one suspect by the name of “Thomas Garson” was the killer. Twenty minutes later it revealed that Lawliet was correct. “Wow how did you know that!?” I said. “Lucky guess.” Lawliet said, with almost a look of guilt in his eyes. I gave him a hug. “Cheer up.” I said smiling. I flicked off the T.V. “Thanks.” Lawliet said. I laid on the couch. I sighed. “Lawliet when’s your birthday?” I asked. “October thirty first.” Lawliet replied. “That’s a long ways away.” I said. “Yours?” he asked. “March fifteenth.” I answered. “That was awhile ago.” Lawliet said. “I’m now eighteen.” I said proudly. “Hmm.” Lawliet said thoughtfully. I smiled. “Well I’m off to bed.” I said. “Okay.” I looked at Lawliet. The feeling burst inside of me. That feeling. I’d come to know it as “The feeling when I’m with Lawliet” and it happened whenever he was around me or smiled or held me. He hadn’t kissed me since the day at the beach. “Night Lawliet.” I said finally. “Night.” Lawliet said, in almost a whisper. For some reason sadness filled inside me and I went to bed, tears almost spilling inside out of me. Why and where was Lawliet going that I couldn’t be with him? Why couldn’t I be with my Lawliet?

Note:
Thomas Garson and the case on the T.V. were created by me and any case or person that is like it is purley a coincidence.
Chapter 11
A few more days passed when I decided that I needed to return to my mom. The voice mails on my cell-phone had started piling most of them blubberish from my mothers crying. I told Lawliet this and he nodded in agreement. So Lawliet took my hand and we walked to my house. When we finally got there I gave a heavy sigh and gave a weak smile back. He gave me the thumbs up sign. I walked to the door and slowly turned the doorknob. It was not locked. I opened the door to find my mother sobbing on the dining room table, her face buried in her arms. I sighed. Mom I’m home.” I said. She looked up in disbelief. “Hannah!” she yelled and ran to hug me. “I’m so sorry! I’ll never do it again! I’m so horrible!” she wailed. “Mom it’s okay. I know your temper just got out of hand.” I said. My mom held me tighter. “Where have you been staying?” she asked when she finally let go of me. “At my friends Lawliet’s house.” I replied. I looked to the door and as if on cue Lawliet walked in. “Mom this is Lawliet.” I said gesturing to him. “Hello Mrs. Hale.” Lawliet said, extending his hand. “Hi Lawliet and thank you.” She said shaking his hand. “Thank god. At least they’re acting like they like each other.” I thought. “Oh! Your that boy that Hannah goes with every evening!” My mother exclaimed, remembering and grinning mischievously. “Yes I am. We just go the park down the block.” Lawliet replied acting as if it meant nothing. “Oh.” My mother said looking disappointed. I couldn’t help but giggle. “Well that’s my mother for you. Always wanting to hear her daughters love life.” I thought. “Anyways thank you again Lawliet and I hope to see you again soon.” My mother said and on that note Lawliet walked out of the door. I stared longingly but snapped out of my trance. My mom looked at me and smiled.

The days passed and I found myself longing for Lawliet more and more. Apart from our brief school moments I hadn’t been seeing him much. He also hadn’t been coming to my house often in the evenings and to school as well. “Is he sick?” I wondered. He usually never was. I worried. I hardly noticed the big posters telling all the good things happening at prom. One day at school, when Kayla had a detention and Melissa was studying for a test, Lawliet and me were sitting under the apple tree. I cuddled up to him and he smiled at me. “How are you?” I asked. “Good.” Lawliet said. We paused. “Will you go to the prom with me?” Lawliet said, looking awkward. I stared. “Sure.” I said blankly. Lawliet looked pleased with himself. I smiled. “Your so funny sometimes you know that?” I said teasingly. He smiled. “I’ll be walking you home today okay?” he said. “Okay.” I answered. As we walked home I got to the house and he followed me. My mother stood waiting. “I trust Watanuki sent you my message.” Lawliet said to her. She nodded. I looked at them both, confused. “Well?” Lawliet asked her. She sighed. “Well I have noticed she seems a bit distant since she came here.” My mother sighed. Lawliet smiled. “Okay. She can live with you. But only if she visit’s me once a week or more if she wants to.” My mother sighed. I looked at amazement. I was going to live with Lawliet. “Excellent. I’ll tell Watanuki to get her stuff tomorrow.” Lawliet said. “Mom? I’m going to live with Lawliet?” I said. “Yes dear.” My mother said soothing my hair.
Chapter 10
The splash of the waves, the cry of the gulls and the crisp blue sky, this was the perfect day for going to the beach. I flounced around and waded in the ocean, lifting up my dress as to not get it wet. Lawliet watched me with a smile in his eyes. I gasped. “What is it?” Lawliet said urgently. “The fish are nibbling my toes, it tickles!” I giggled. “Why you.” Lawliet muttered and ran right at me. “AGH!” I screamed as he swooped me up and held me in his arms. “Put me down Lawliet!” I shrieked playfully. “Never.” Lawliet said. I laughed until my sides were sore. “Lawliet!” I cried. He dashed to the beach and went up to a big rock. He placed me down here. I took in the beauty of it all. The glorious sun laying it’s rays onto the blue sea and the white cloud’s dotted here and there. Lawliet turned to me with the smile I loved. “I like it here don’t you?” he asked. “Yes I do very much.” I replied with a happy smile. A few moments passed. “I think I’ll go beach-combing wanna come?” Lawliet asked. “Naw I think I’ll stay here for awhile.” I said. “Okay.” Lawliet stepped down and went to the beach. I contentedly laid down on the rock and took in the sun. I must have fallen asleep but the gulls woke me up eventually. Just as I stood up I heard a man’s voice. “Hey there girl.” He said. I turned around. A grubby man with long red hair and stubble’s on his chin and wearing dirty clothes approached me. I froze. “Watcha doing all alone out here?” he said lazily. I couldn’t talk. He came close, so close I could smell the alcohol in his breath. “Come on girl.” He said running his hands down my arms. I tried to scream but it lodged in my throat. “Lawliet.” I managed to choke out, but only in a whisper. “Heh.” The man laughed, then into a full-fledged laugh, the sound braking over waves. And then he fell. Lawliet had a horrible look in his eyes, a mix of disgust and hatred brooding in them. The man got to his legs and screamed. “What are you doing boy!? This girl and I were having a little fun is all!” The man shrieked. The man went for a punch but Lawliet dodged it and threw his leg into the mans gut. The men collapsed into a heap on the rock. “Let’s go Hannah.” Lawliet said sternly. I nodded and followed him, moving out of the way for the man. Once at the beach I sat on a log to calm myself. “Are you okay? Did he do anything to you?” Lawliet asked, lifting my head into his gaze. I shook my head. Lawliet sighed in relief. “Why didn’t you scream? Why didn’t you stop him?” Lawliet asked me. “I-I’m sorry.” I mumbled. “No Hannah! You could have gotten so hurt!” Lawliet said. I started crying. “I’m sorry Lawliet!” I yelled. Lawliet took my face in his hands. And before I knew it his lips were on mine. Lawliet was kissing me. Me.
Chapter 9
When I got to Lawliet’s house it was not what I expected at all. It was actually quite small, a two story house, which was white and the roof a black, along with the side’s of the window’s. Lawliet must have seen my surprise because he smiled and said, “Expecting something else?” For some reason I had expected a much bigger house, with more extravagance to it. I was wrong. The inside was just as plain, with a normal living room, a red couch and a few chairs placed in front of a wide-screen T.V. The kitchen was painted a blood red and had the normal counters and cupboards along with the fridge, stove and dishwasher packed together. The dining room had pretty paintings scattered along the walls and a dark-chocolate color to the dinging table and chairs. The bathroom had white and blue tiles for the floor and a shower tucked in the corner with the toilet and sink beside each other. The bedrooms where nice, with the walls painted an almond brown and the beds beside a long window. I sighed and plopped onto my bed that Lawliet had shown me and went into a badly needed sleep. I woke up the birds chirping and the sunlight pouring onto me. It took me a few seconds to remember where I was. “Oh that’s right! I’m at Lawliet’s house.” I thought to myself. I pulled the blankets off of me and went downstairs. Lawliet sat on the couch watching a show and eating a bowl of cereal. He turned as he saw me, a smile playing along his lips. “Up sleepy-head?” he said. As if to prove his point I yawned. “Thanks for letting me stay over Lawliet.” I said groggily. I plunked beside him. “What are you watching?” I asked. “I don’t mind the murder mysteries on.” Lawliet said, which I guessed meant he was watching a murder mystery. I found the cereal and got myself some. “So what are we going to do today?” I asked. Lawliet shrugged. The day dragged on, and I felt myself becoming more bored. “Oh. Do you have any clothes I could change into?” I said, noticing the grubby feeling I had with my tear-stained clothes. “Hmm.” Lawliet got up and searched the house. He came back with a beautiful sundress that was yellow and had branches decorated with cherry blossoms stretching out on the sides. “Oh! It’s so pretty!” I exclaimed. I went to the bathroom to get changed and when I came out Lawliet had the biggest smile I’d ever seen. “You look lovely.” He said. I felt the heat rise to my cheeks and looked down. “Let’s go to the beach!” Lawliet said happily. “Sure, if it makes you happy.” I agreed.
Please comment!! It would be much appriciated

Chapter 8
The next few days Lawliet came to my house every evening at 4:00. We always went to the park and always laid under the willow tree. I always looked forward to those evenings. One day as I was walking home with him he asked me an odd question. “What’s it like to be so average?” he asked. “What do you mean average?” I said, puzzled. “To have an average life. Not be super smart or seen so much.” Lawliet said almost to himself. I didn’t say anything. Soon enough Lawliet changed the topic and we started talking. I didn’t think of the question any further. Lawliet dropped me off at my house and I went into my bedroom.

My mom and me fought often and tonight was no exception. It was usually about my father, who I wanted to visit a lot but my mother would never let me. “Why can’t I visit Dad? Or is this some revenge thing you have planned?” I yelled at her. “He’s not good for you Hannah! He’s a bad influence!” My mom yelled back. “So you just jealous because I want to visit him so often?” I said, in almost a whisper. My mother walked up to me and slapped me. I looked at her in horror. Her temper had never flamed up to this. Tear’s filled my eyes and I ran out of the house. I went to me and Lawliet’s park and lay under the willow tree for a long while. “I’m not going back to the house tonight.” I thought determinedly. And then as I opened my eyes I saw Lawliet squatting in front of me. I’d never noticed how he sat crouched with his hands on his knees. And he didn’t wear shoes. “My mom and me got into a fight, and it got a bit ugly.” I whispered. “I can’t go back there tonight.” I said. “Lawliet my life’s such a mess.” I whispered, tears brimming over. I felt his hand wipe my tears away and him hold me tight. “You can stay with me for awhile. Until it feel’s right to go home.” He said in my ear. “Thank you.” I said and hugged him back. There it was again. That feeling again. That happiness. That feeling. What was it? “Your welcome.” He said softly. We stayed that way for a long time and when I finally rose from the spot I felt better then before. Lawliet had helped me so much I felt an undying gratitude to him. This was Lawliet. No not Lawliet, My Lawliet. With his dark circles and ruffled hair. His white shirt and rugged jeans. My Lawliet. He took my hand and led me to his house.
