Golgo 13's not high art, by any means. You pretty much go into every episode knowing Duke Togo's going to ventilate someone's head sometime in the course of the 24 minutes; the real fun is watching the ridiculous stuff that goes on before and after.
To give you an idea of this series: first episode, Togo (with a four-hour limit for his job) needs to get his sniper rifle modified for greater penetration, and gives a smith three hours to do the job. In the meantime he gets horizontal with a prostitute until she begs him for more, then shoots a couple of guys for no reason having to do with the main plot (he keeps the prostitute safe, of course, because collateral damage is unprofessional). After he gets his gun fixed, actually shooting the episode's mark takes about five seconds and there is no drama whatsoever. THAT is Golgo 13.
I didn't read the manga, so I can't say. Put it this way, though: Juurouta Kosugi as the top, and Jun Fukuyama as the bottom. The show as such isn't all that great, but by god those two make it work.
I'd like to go to Toronto's con, where you could drop some Kantian bombs on me. Sadly, I can't make the cross country trip.
Is Golgo 13 suspends-all-beliefs good? I haven't seen something like that in a while. I may be tempted to watch some ultra-sniper action if it make me watch first, think later.

@Fasteriskhead:
Jun Fukuyama? That's kind of unexpected. I'd have figured they'd go with someone incredibly obnoxious sounding (like Kouki Miyata...)
