Tower of Druaga has a completely different tone in the second episode. It looks like it'll still be humorous but not as goofy and absurd as the first episode. I'm a sucker for the swords and sorcery setting so if they pull it off well it'll be one of my favorites this season.
I was pretty bewildered by the SD action in Vampire Knight. Maybe my memories of the manga aren't that great after all? I used to borrow random copies of my friend's Shojo Beat to read it... and even though I barely had a handle on the story and skipped from chapter to chapter totally out of order, the art and the whole vampire angst thing made it pretty damn engrossing. ^^;; It's hard to overemphasize what a difference the art made--the thirsting for blood scenes take repressed shoujo eroticism to a whole new level.
Dunno what to think about the anime. Great cast, though.
