I walk into the lodge with Mai, hoping against hope that Keiji and Satomi haven't met yet. Maybe, just maybe, Satomi isn't working today, or they didn't meet.. I almost laugh at myself for thinking that. Given my luck they've met, and Keiji is angry and jealous. I love Keiji, I really do. I've always seen him as a sort of bossy older brother, but he's so possessive of us zodiac.
"Ami!" I hear Satomi calling me. I look up to see her, she's talking to Kohaku and his friend Ryu. She smiles at me, but doesn't look as happy as usual. When I've walked over I find out why, "I met Keiji..." She says, softly. I nod, "Let me guess, he's mad at you?" Satomi nods slowly, "How did you know?" she asks, "Because it's Keiji."
Joy. Another fun family get together. This'll be so much fun.

I slip over to Kohaku-kun and tug on his shirt. He looks down at me and smiles. "Hello Mai." he says, hugging me. I hug him back, "Hi Kohaku." I smile at him, "Look, Patchikun has a winter coat" I hold Patchikun out for him to look at. "I like it." Kohaku says.
Ami walks to us, "C'mon Mai, lets go upstairs." she says. Ami looks sad, and a little mad. "What's a'matter?" I ask her softly. She doesn't answer me.
---Ami---
I take Mai's hand, and make my way towards our room, Kohaku and Ryu following me. We walk down the hall and hear shouting. Mai freezes, but I tug her towards the source of the noise. The door to a room stands ajar, and inside are; guess who? Yup, Keiji and his band of cursed teenagers. I let go of Mai, and slip inside slowly, no one notices. Keiji holds his cheek, glaring at...a boy I don't know. An outsider maybe? Poor kid, he shouldn't have gotten involved. Natsumi's holding her hair. Keiko's being held back by who could only be Yumi. All of them are seething with anger.
Keiji looks up suddenly and sees me. "Ami," he says, in a deadly quiet voice, "Come here." I walk to him. "A girl, Satomi or something, who works here claims that you and she are... girlfriends." A look of pure disgust comes over Keiji's face, "Though," he continues, "I told her this is impossible. My Ami would not date without permission. Not after everything I have provided for her. Would you date behind my back Ami?" I gulp audibly, and look up at him.
"Satomi and I are together." I say softly. A slight flicker of sadness crosses over Keiji's face, then vanishes. He nods coldly, "You know Ami, I shall have to punish you for this." He slaps me hard enough to send me to the ground. Tears spring to my eyes, and spill out. I try to sit up, but get knocked back down by him hitting me again, and again. I close my eyes, and wait for it to be over.

Yumi and I were walking down the hall, trying to find our room, when I heard Natsumi’s voice. "You are just jealous because we are loved!" she yelled, at someone who I could 0only guess was Keiji. I ran up to see Keiji holding Natsumi by the hair while she winced.
I clenched my fists at my side and yelled, “Let her go!” They both looked up to see who had called out, and Keiji smirked when he saw me glaring at him.
“What’s the matter?” he asked. “I’m only teaching her a lesson, that I have every right to teach.”
I growled and ran up to punch him. Yumi caught me just before I could, “Keiko! He’s not worth it!”
Keiji’s eyes widened slightly when he saw Yumi. “You,” he practically hissed.
Yumi glared at him, “Me. I wish I could say it’s nice to see you again Keiji.” I still struggled against her, every fibre of my being was screaming to punch him in the face.

Snow, I hate it. It’s just frozen water, what’s the big deal? I made my way down the hall, and could hear people yelling. I rubbed my ear, just what I needed on this so called ‘vacation.’ As I got further down the hall I could see that it was Keiji and that girl Keiko who were arguing. “Let me at him!” Keiko screamed at the blonde who was holding her back.
I walked over to the group, and saw that Keiji was holding one of the other zodiac females by her hair. I shook my head, what was I supposed to do? I shrugged, it’s not like I could get into any more trouble with Keiji. I clenched my fist, and punched him the face. He let go of the girl, and held his cheek. Keiko looked at me surprised, but at the same time she looked as though she wished she had slugged him. “WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!? WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO EVEN TOUCH ME!?” Keiji growled.

Mama closes the car door behind me, and takes my hand. "Mama, don't hold my hand!" I tell her urgently, "It's babyish!" Mama laughs, "Babyish?" She says, smirking. I sigh. Grownups never understand important things like how hand holding is babyish. "Mai," Mama says, "It's very busy, and I don't want to get separated!"
She pulls me inside, so that we can find Ami. Ami volunteered to take me to the resort, and keep an eye on me. I'm kind of scared, because I've never been around Ami alone. But Mama and Daddy say I'll be fine.
We walk into the food court and glance around for Ami. I see her first, and pull Mama over. A few minutes later and Mama leaves. Ami grins down at me, "C'mon!" she says brightly. She starts to reach for my hand, but I shake my head, stubbornly. "Holding hands is-" Ami cuts me off, "Babyish?" she says. I nod, and Ami shrugs. "Okay, whatever." She starts to walk toward the platform.
A little later we're on the train! Ami pulls out a sketch book, and starts drawing, while I stare our the window.

I smile at the elderly couple I just checked in, and direct them to a bell boy. "Have a good stay!" I call cheerfully as they walk away. My friend Aito grins at me,
"You're in a good mood today!" he says, "How come?"
I glare playfully at him,
"Do I have to have a reason?" I ask. He smirks and nods,
"If there's one thing I've learned, it's that Satomi Fukui is never happy just for kicks."
He says, trying desperately to flirt. I cock an eyebrow,
"You can save your flirting Aito! I'm taken." I say.
He pouts, "A man can try, right? And anyway, You beloved would never need know."
I grin again, "Actually, I'm happy because Ami and her family are vacationing here! The should be here anytime!" I turn from him and see a young man, about 19, waiting to be helped. I walk over to him.
"I'm sorry for the wait," I apologize, "Do you have a reservation?"
He nods, "It's under Sohma Keiji"
I smile warmly, wondering if this is Ami's Keiji. I check him in, and ask "Sir, do you happen to know an Ami Sohma? 17, short, blonde hair?" He raises an eyebrow, "Yes. I know her. Why?" I smile brightly, "So you're the Keiji she talks about!" He stares at me, looking annoyed. "Oh..." I blush, "Sorry... I'm Satomi Fukui, I'm friends with Ami. Well, girlfriend really..." He glares at me, "Girlfriend? " he says, coldly, "As in?"
I'm startled by his sudden mood change, "As is, dating?" I say, softly and nervously. His cold glare turns into a look of hatred, and he walks away quickly. I stare after him, confused. "What was that about?" I wonder out loud, A voice answers me, making me jump, "Keiji's always like that."

....I just found a bit of tree sap in my hair. It's so sticky I'll have to cut it out...Grr. That's what I get for playing outside in the Pacific North West!

“Yumi!” I smiled at my friend as she ran up to my house. “Are you ready?”
She nodded, “yep, let’s go!” We both hopped in the car.
“I’ll drop you two off at the train station, ok?” my mother smiled. We both nodded.
“Oh! I can’t wait to get there! I’ve never been to the snow!” I cried excitedly.
“Uh huh!” Yumi agreed, just as excited. “But I’m more excited to meet the Zodiac members!” I smiled at her. She seemed to think for a second. “Kohaku the Ox, Kameko the Rabbit, Mai the Dragon, Natsumi the Rooster and Ami the Dog, right?”
I nodded, “Yep! They’re the only ones I’ve met so far.” My mother dropped us off at the train station, and we boarded the first train. An hour later, we arrived at the mountain peak. “Woo! Snow!” I shouted.

I run into my room, grinning about summer. I love summer break! I get to do whatever I want! Normally I'd be at my table doing math, but I just got in from being outside! I Drop Pachikun on my bed, and quickly change from the clothes I was wearing at the park, and pull out a colouring book. I flip it open randomly, and flop on my floor to colour.
A few hours, and lots of pages later, the phone rings. I hear Mama answer it, and I go back to my picture. A few minutes later she calls me. "Yes Mama, let me pick up real fast." I quickly shove my book onto the shelf, and straiten my dress, then I run to the living room. Mama smiles at me, "Keiji planned a vacation for all of you." she says, I look up at her, half excited to see everyone again, but half scared to be with Keiji for a long time. "are you going?" I ask, softly. Mama loses her smile and shakes her head, "You know how Keiji is. Family won't be welcome...." Her voice trails off. "May I go play again?" I ask, trying to be polite. Mama nods, so I turn and walk back to my room.
A little while later the doorbell rings, "Could you get that Mai?" Mama calls. I agree, then glance down at myself. I had been playing dress up, and was in a floofy purple dress, Mama's high heels, and an over sized hat. I shrug, and hurry to the door, tripping over the shoes.
I pull back the door and see Nasumi! And Kohaku! I hug them, and pull them inside, asking lots of things without stopping in between to breath "Did you bring the cupcakes? Do you want to play with me? Are you going on the vacation too? Do you think it'll be fun? Can I have a cupcake? What kind are they?" They look kind of overwhelmed by how hyper I am.

Yeah, Mai is hyper when she's excited, like most kids. I figured she wouldn't be as shy in her own house. ^-^
