I've studied shorin-ryu and kobudo (bo, tonfa, sai, nunchuku) and iado. My sword is an old one, and the tsuba is solid iron, making it very heavy. I remember coming home after class ane lifting it one-armed over my head five hundred times every night just to get my arms used to the weight. I also had to tie my hakama just below the waist...otherwise I couldn't draw the sword (I'm a girl, so my arms and reach are shorter than boys). Its not fun when your sensei is standing in front of you saying, "what is your problem?!" - so you figure out what your problem is...and fix it.

Very good! I've always been partial to Neko no Myujutsu, The Marvelous Techniques of the Old Cat...though it is more of a budo lesson...
