I can very much sympathize with this experience. It's pretty isolating when you attempt to share something -- no matter how small or unimportant -- with someone, and they slam the proverbial door in your face. But I'm willing to bet this person didn't even realize they'd hurt your feelings. Sometimes even the most perceptive people are oblivious to the affect a thoughtless comment or attitude may have on another. I think Missy's got it about right -- if you feel like you know this person reasonably well, it might help to clear the air and just tell 'em that they hurt your feelings. But it's your call to make.
I hope that you start to feel better. Based on my impressions of you, I think you deserve to feel good about yourself. :)

Sometimes people say things that rub you the wrong way, and despite how you may try to reason it out that it shouldn't bother you, it still does. At that point, you should tell said person (calmly and appropriately) about said bothersome feeling.
That is, if the person in question is someone you are actually on friendly terms with. If not...

On the other hand, humans are social creatures and not designed to exist completely on their own.
