Chapter 4: Revelation

Kalea walked along the path the way she had been going every night for the past week or so, she breathed in the smog she could smell the greasy smell of a burger van selling hotdogs to devoted football fans at midnight, she wandered down to the lake she couldn’t believe no one had found this place before there was a small lake/pond surrounded by a beautiful grassland area which in spring would probably be full of flowers but the weird thing was when she went there she could smell the smell of the supernatural different creatures smelled different, Vampires like flowers, Fairies like something sweet, Pizies like herbs, Wolves like wet dogs, Humans like B.O and Elves like different fruits Kalea smelt like oranges, it was a refreshing smell and sometimes you could smell pine sap as well. She could smell herbs, did this mean this was where Mink was hiding out? Pizies liked water, she knew this and the lake would be a good place to hide, it all clicked into place Mink was in that pond somewhere, after James’ attack she was badly injured James had told her and water was a good healer Mink would be laying in the pond healing it was so obvious why hadn’t she seen it sooner Mink had been attacked yesterday so it would still take a while to fully recover depending on how desperate Mink was to get back to killing and how deep the cuts were Mink probably didn’t know Kalea was there if Kalea saw Mink then Mink would see Kalea so she couldn’t be sure Mink couldn’t smell through the water but Kalea could smell the sent Mink had left before crawling into the water and no doubt Mink wasn’t alone although she was probably the only killer she would have to have a motive but what was the motive.
Kalea had come back into the building that she and Satu were living in it was 89 floors high but only the top 3 floors were in use floor 87 was living accommodation, 88 was the thinking floor where they had computers and all the things they needed for detective work like un-traceable phones and automatic phone tapping devices the top floor was storage and had all the wiring and satellite. She went up to the thinking floor 88 she logged onto the computer typed in her password “you’re beautiful” she sighed its rather depressing to have your death line to be your password but it was a very un-inspirational on that day. A death line is a sentence an elf hears right before they choose to die, elves cant be killed apart from the exception of vampires killing them other than that elves choose to die they accept death and say out loud “I ____ CHOOSE TO DIE!”
