Mostly I think it's because they take about four years to make one album. Also, they are definitely an acquired taste. It's sort of like U2. You have to sort of build up a resistance to them before you can really appreciate them.
My friends recommend anime they don't even watch, so it's kinda the same thing.
Wow. That was... I have mixed feelings about that... I like it, it's just... you know that feeling when you see your teacher in the grocery store and you're like, "Cool, that's [...]" but then you're like, "Ugh, what if [...] sees me?" That's kinda how I feel.
From the research I did (aka look them up on Wikipedia), they were big in the UK in the early 2000s and went gold in the US in '05. So I don't know why nobody's ever heard of them.
Yeah, I felt pretty silly recomending music lessons I don't even take, so I went to Justin Guitars and watched a few videos. Franz Ferdinand is opened of my favorite rock bands. Apparently no one has heard of them, but they're still cool. Look up the video for their song Walk Away, I think you'll like it.
. . . Music news... *goes over head* I need to start looking up info on my favorite bands, I don't know anything about any of them (aside from how Imagine Dragons was formed in 2011-ish).

That would explain it. And that's probably a better phrase for it, acquired taste. Just like Pink Floyd is an acquired taste.
