Behind the Metal!

Alchemy, a mix between science and mystical philosophy, it was the theory of transforming simple metals into silver and gold. This philosophy first developed in the age of early Christianity till the late 1700s. Alchemy was a major breakthrough in Egypt, China, and India, alchemy was then spread through Syria and Persia to the Arabs. There from the Arabs it finally spread to Western Europe around 1100’s and 1200’s. Once it did a new age of Alchemy was born and it was also known as a type of job during the Renaissance. Not only was it then a theory to turn metals into silver and gold but also using certain herbs as potions to heal the injured or sick, this is similar to a local healer but not completely. After a few years Alchemy was a very popular subject in the time of the Renaissance which shortly after came the time when local healers got the name Alchemist.

This is totaly different from what you may have learned about alchemy (alchemists) if you have watched or read Fullmetal Alchemist! It was quite a shocker to me before but I got over it. And now I want to share with you "Behind the Metal!"
