What is This? All New Seiyuu?!

Yesterday I finally received my copy of Perfect World volume 13. A lovely surprise was a special insert about the upcoming game, Fushigi Yuugi Suzaku Ibun. But something was amiss. Why was Miyano Mamoru of Death Note fame being pictured as the voice of Tamahome? I slowly and fearfully turned the page. Hotohori was next. "星宿＊CV:小西克幸(こにしかつゆき)" To translate, "Hotohori*CV(character voice): Konishi Katsuyuki". I looked through the rest. Apparently yes, most of the seiyuu are different from the original anime and drama CDs for this game. Hikitsu and Tomite's seiyuu seem to be the only originals that are playing their original role (since they have been playing them again for the Genbu Kaiden game and drama CDs recently anyway). This will also be the 3rd seiyuu for Chichiri - Tomokazu Seki was not the only seiyuu for him as Yamaguchi Kappei had played him in a later drama/vocal CD.

Other than for Hikitsu and Tomite, we DO have one other original seiyuu coming back to voice - although he is taking on a new role. If you recognized the name "Narita Ken", that was the seiyuu who played Tetsuya as well as Suzaku Seikun in the OVA. So he'll be playing Nakago this time around. Of course if you're familiar with any of his other roles, then you'll know he has played such characters as Sesshoumaru in Inuyasha for instance. I think he'll do fine as Nakago. =)
