Save me from my pain

You saved me from my hell,
where I'm nothing but a slave,
forced to take pain daily
and protect what I must.

I was ordered to protect my family,
by my father,
my recently murdered master.

No matter what happens to me,
I must protect my mother and sister,
my only remaining family.

I've been forced to become a thief,
a villain,
to keep my family safe.

I've learned to handle the weight,
of everything on my shoulders,
while not showing it at all.

I've never been loved,
only a servant to those who know me.
So my family's hate does nothing to suppress me.

Only when I found,
a love i deemed impossible to be returned,
was the pain too much,
and I allowed you to see my tears.

You brought me back
from my world of pain,
and helped to tell my story.

I'm now no longer a slave,
but a man free to do as he pleases.

So I'll tell you myself,
you saved me from my pain,
by showing it to me
when it was hiding in plain sight.
