Yeah I know what you mean.. sometimes I like doing portraits and then sometimes I don't like them D8 LOL And ah I see o: We should both work on doing them on "time" then xD ^_^ It took me a week or more to "finish" this.. I still need a bg for it T.T' and some shading is off.... rraawrrgghhh *shot*

Yeah! I should do next time heavier strokes & shadings! It's actually done in rush, considering my regular work sched as accounting clerk.
I did 5 couples & worked on these from 7 to 11pm everyday after office stuffs. I took a month to finish them all! I guess the light shading is due to lack of time. (^_^?

Hello I'm actually drawing a portrait right now lol for my teacher ~

You draw very nicely and yet I would suggest adding a little more contrast to make your shadows "pop-out" I can see there are darker areas in the pictures so I would just say to add a little more dark to those areas O: As for proportions, I use guidelines still .. which for some people, they don't even need them. Your proportions are still just a little off but it's fine :3 Drawing proportions without guidelines/scale squares is hard and it takes some time to draw photos without them lols For some people, it's a more "natural" thing for them D8 (lucky them >_>)

All in all, I think your drawings are fine for the most part. They're just a little too light though. Add finer details for more realism, look really hard into those textures on people's faces to bring out the realistic feel of their faces and clothing :D
