WSJ is finally back after the holidays. I read only 3 series there.
Naruto: For me this chapter was even more interesting then the previous ones. Though I don't really like this manga recently, it's getting boring and I want to know when and how it'll end rather than enjoing new chapters.
Bleach: Though the whole battle in Karakura is not going in the way I'd like it to go Bleach at least still provokes my emotions. Not the good ones actually. Further under the spoiler as it contains the events of chapter 388 Ichi comes to the battlefield in the end and... does nothing! I'm disappointed! How could he totally lose the chance not to kill but at least do any harm to invincible Aizen?! And Such a person is the hope of Gotei... So what do we have after a little show "How cool Aisen is"? It seems we're going to see the battle from the begining but with Ichigo on the background... I wonder what will be with Bleach "at the age of Naruto" - 100 chapters later?..
Bakuman: I love this manga! ^_^ Nakai gets what he deserves, I think. And I hope after this failture Ashigori will change the genre and work on something darks *.* Pairing Aoki x Fukuda >.< Btw, does anybody know if there is any coloured art except that in the translation?
Today I read the 11th (the latest by now) chapter of the manga Karakuridouji Ultimo by LEE Stan (story) and TAKEI Hiroyuki (art). And this manga seemed to me... strange O.o I began reading it because I saw Takei-sensei (the creator of my most favourite ShamanKing) as one of the authors. And the art in Ultimo, as for me, is really great (Karakuri Douji are cuuuties *.*). And the story all in all looks not that bad. Once upon a time in Medieval Japan some stranger was caught by bandits who were going to take away all his savings. But the only things he had were 2 very beautiful dolls. Suddenly the dolls revived and began fighting each other... In modern world an ordinary high school student (suspiciously resembling the leader of the medieval bandits) comes across one of these dolls. The doll revives and begins actively expressing its love for the poor (or happy?..) student. And shortly after that they are attacked by the second mentioned doll... Sorry for my bad description T.T Besides I should mention that the dolls (Karakuri Douji) look like boys (and very pretty ones). So what we specifically have: one Naruto-type main hero (the student who found the doll), his not_so_ordinary_as_you_could_think friend (I'm going to make some avatars with him, hehe), 3 ordinary girls (one of them is the main character's love), several cute dolls, a bunch of other rather important but not really good-looking characters and only 1 guy who has a chance to be interesting for female audience. In addition there are more or less broad hints on shounen-ai (I guess "yaoi" is even more suitable) relationships of the main hero. On the other hand the amount of girls and the lack of guys seems to be the first sign of something harem-like. Maybe in the end the main hero will choose who he loves more - girls, guys or boy-looking dolls?.. But I'm afraid that's just my ill perception and the manga will be about something different. ^^'
And I go on with the celebration of my finishing reading Tsubasa ^_^ I even submitted two of my wallpapers on minitokyo.net to get more scans from T:RC. though it didn't seem to help... I want to make lots of cards and wallpapers with them!:D But I don't know when I'll do that... -.-
Finally made this world after several weeks of doubts, hope I did everything right >.<
Yesterday I finished reading Tsubasa! It's amazing! I LOVE this manga! I've never read such long manga so fast, it's interesting from the very begining to the very end. So T:RC becomes my second favourite manga after ShamanKing ^_^
The only thing I didn't like was a small change in art in last volumes, but it's usual for long series and it's not so noticeable as in Bleach for example. So that's not important ^^
