Wow, that was interesting. I mean I liked the action part of the movie but other than that... It wasn't what I would consider the greatest movie ever. lol That kind of blind devotion to something is just silly.
To be fair, I enjoyed FF7 AC as a standalone movie designed to be action-y, and I have never played the game. The scripting was skeletal, but it gave me enough information to know who was good and who was evil and who were making cameos to make the fans happy and whatall.
But overall, the point of the movie was not story. It was fight scenes. And as fight scenes go, they were pretty darn good.
However.
Just as I pick on people now and again for being biased about disliking a series or genre or something or other, I'd have to pick on this person about blindly following the genre instead of looking for good quality. In everything, be objective. If you like something, cool. If someone else doesn't, find out why, and if their reason is personal, that's about as far as you can take it.
Don't be stupid with your fandom, and don't be stupid with your antipathy.
Oh wow. =_= Getting mad at you over a movie? That's not very nice. From what I've heard, there are tons of movies out there that are better. Anytime a movie relies on you playing a game or reading the book first, it makes it less of a movie and more of a treat for fans of said game or book. Truly great movies stand on their own.
Anyway, I'm just glad it wasn't in person. I sincerely hope people wouldn't actually attack or hit someone in real life over something as trivial as a movie.

Mm, sorry I missed that convo. I agree with you on all your advent children points, I also thought it was stupid. Like one long cut scene from a game I have never and will never play. This was the same chick that wanted to have her name written in L's Death Note, right? Haha.

As funny as the bit with them smashing a pot over your head was, their responses to Miss A about great feelings for anime was rather amusing.

Clearly Slither is the greatest movie ever.
Other than that . . . the Cloud cutting Bahamut sequence was pretty crazy awesome.

I would love to see the conversation/complaining that was more than likely going on between Heero and Kibaumi.
Oh, and for the record, FFVII:AC still does not equal best movie ever, whether you have great feelings for anime or not.
