Haven't seen a lot of anime movies, but I'd recommend Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust if you haven't seen it yet. Though a word of caution: it had me bawling my eyes off at the end, so you'd best avoid it if you dislike sad/bittersweet plots c:
I can only think of "one piece: strong world" for an anime move caue it's the only one I watches aside from the other one piece moves because of me streaming site being so kind as to have them up subbed. I hope this suggestion counts if nit then I apologize for wasting your time.
Ummm...the read or die movie was good. Kikis delivery service is one of my favorites. Howls moving castle, my neighbor tototo, ponyo wasadorable! The cat returns is supposed to be good, and thats all I canthink ofxD I hope that helps
The wolf children is really good, and if you haven't watched these movies then Whisper of the heart, From up on poppy hill, Grave of the fireflies, Colorful, Garden of words, and 5 centimetres per second would do. :)
I'll add Kiki's Delivery Service to my list, thank you! :)
For some reason, Akira being creepy, grotesque and weird are the reasons that I want to watch it xD I'll be sure to let everyone know what I thought of it.

Let's see… anime movies.
Well, Summer Wars would be a good choice. I know that's already been suggested to you, but it really is a good anime film. I even have it on DVD. Kiki's Delivery Service is another pretty good anime film. I've seen it like two or three times. There's another anime film that a friend of mine and I watched streaming once that was pretty good, but for the life of me I can't remember what it's called. Anyway, those are the only anime films I can think of at the moment that aren't related to an already existing series.
As far as Akira goes, I strongly recommend against watching it. I watched it last December when it ran on Toonami that one time, and it really wasn't all that great. It was creepy, rather grotesque, and the ending was just plain weird. I know Akira is considered an anime classic, but it really isn't worth checking out.
I know, its not the violence that makes me not suggest it (matter of fact it would do the opposite) its the fact that
1. It's LONG
2. It really isn't all that great.
3. The ending is pretty...Creepy on the eyes.

That would be a #1 contender for me.
I still favor "Spirited Away" the most.

You're welcome! I'd also suggest Millenium Actress (since Keba mentioned Paprika by the same director), but that one's a bit weird.

Although I haven't seen it, I heard Paprika is good. I'm afraid I can't give an opinion either way.
Call it karma. Call it luck. Me, I just don't give a... BOUNCE!

The Girl who Leapt Through Time is a really good one! And Nausicaa is good, too!
