How many of those people you talked to, other than your sister, are twins themselves?
Its tough to know, because they dont go through it. I cant recall how many times Ive heard "John and (Brother's Name)." Its usually stuff WE did, or stuff WE got, or things WE went through. There have been times where I caught myself talking to people "Our, We're, etc. . ."
It a tough thing to be thought of as part of a set, time and distance are the only things that will take care of that.
Thank you so much for understanding. Pretty much everyone I've talked to hasn't understood why it's stressed me out to get this room assignment. I mean, you pretty muched summed it up: we're individuals and we need to be treated as such.
And thank you for the optimism, that's the first nice and uplifting thing someone as told me about the situation. I needed to hear it.
As a twin myself, I know EXACTLY what you're going through. Spending every second together and constantly being compared to and thought of as a set of people rather than an individual. Its not fun. Been there, done that, no thank you.
And I think they paired you two up because they knew you were twins and though they were doing you a favor, regardless of what they may have told you.
Funny, out of me and my brother, Im the "nice twin," but I have a much sharper tongue than him. Im not afraid to use it either.
Take it easy, things will work out. You may even get a better room than you originally did.
