This is good stuff Kei. One note I wanted to make, while you're absolutely correct in that ぢ is rarely used. づ is actually used quite a bit, especially in names. While you can't phonetically hear the difference, the character is still used. For example 続く(つづく), the verb "to continue" uses it, and the name of the city I live in, Kizugawa, is written 木津川 (きづがわ). So it's important to know.
