Part III - Intensifying Expressions and ましょう/ましょうか
Part III-A Intensifying Expressions
We can vary how intensely we want some adjectives come across by using some very useful adverbs: ちょっと (chotto/a little) and とても (totemo/very; a lot). These usually come before the adjective they're modifying.
Ex. 私の手書きはちょっと悪いです。
(Watashi no tegaki wa chotto warui desu.)
My handwriting is a little bad.
アドムの仕事はとても難しいです。
(Adomu no shigoto wa totemo muzukashii desu.)
Adam's job is very difficult.
Part III-B ましょう/ましょうか
In Japanese, you can use ましょう/ましょうか to essentially offer up a plan of action. To use it, we take the long present form of a verb, drop ~ます, and add ましょう/ましょうか.
Ex. 食べる -> 食べます -> 食べましょう
一緒にレストランで食べましょう。
(Issho ni resutoran de tabemashou.)
Let's eat together at the restaurant.
映画館で映画を見ましょう。
(Eigakan de eiga wo mimashou.)
Shall we watch a movie at the movie theatre?
