I totally understand. All my closest friends in high school ended up breaking communication basically and those who were friends but not "close friends" ended up becoming my best friends. Confusing. But you're right. You learn who your real friends are once you separate and go to different places.
I hate he beach. lol! I just hate sand and salt water. I'm a forest girl! *snort* I'm glad you had such a great time! I hope you get your car back soon though! I wouldn't be able to survive without my car.
