WE ONLY HAVE 4 DAYS LEFT OF SUMMER VACATION!!!!
I still haven't opened my Things Fall Apart yet and my HP notes are half finished because I forgot to do tons of stuff lol.
All the ones that aren't licensed in America should be on Mangafox. So yeah, besides Dengeki Daisy and MeruPuri, they should be there. That's where I read them :)
Okay! Most of those aren't licensed here, which is probably why you haven't heard of them. MeruPuri is licensed here, and it's by Matsuri Hino, the artist of Vampire Knight ^__^
Karneval (considered a shoujo because of the audience it's aimed at but it's not a romance), Psychic Detective Yakumo (dunno if you'll like this though, it's creepy), L DK (sortakindareally not always appropriate but it's funny), the Last Game (really innocent but that's why I find it so cute), Kobato (also has an anime I think. Dunno if you've read/watched this one), MeruPuri (again, not sure if you've read this already), aaand maybe I'll think of some others soon. And of course Dengeki Daisy. It's amusing.
Also, have you seen the anime version of Hakuouki? Some people love it and some people hate it, but I'm a person who loves it~
(oh shoot, I thought I deleted your comment in time...guess I was still caught xD)
Watcha talking about? You, are not ugly. NEVER. A GIRL IS NEVER UGLY. THE ONLY TIMES A GIRL IS UGLY ARE WHEN 1) she's a bitch or 2) she was attacked by a face-eating person. The chances of the second one happening? Uh...smaller than the first. :P And your personality seems to be perfectly fine! You're bemusing me as to why you think you have a bad personality!
Hmm...I must try to recall them. In retrospect, many of my favorite ones are the more popular ones, so you may have read them already. But anyways, here's some more:
1. Beauty Pop
2. Oresama Teacher (not really a romance one, but if you love shoujo/romance, the style of this manga will fit your taste)
3. Akuma to Love Song (incomplete)
4. HOUOU GAKUEN MISORAGUMI (incomplete)
5. Gakuen Ouji (incomplete)
6. Power!
7. Kitchen Princess
Hmm...that's all I can think of for now. I recommend them in the order I've given them~! The incomplete ones have 10+ chapters out.
I hate manhwuas and the korean versions. The drawings usually aren't that good, or the names just....suck. And I can't memorize the names unless they are japanese ones, lol. xD
LOL you forgot to delete my comment and so I was reading and I was like OMG YOU SOUND JUST LIKE ME IT'S DEJA VU. XDD
LOLOL I'm ugly and have a bad personality so no one has ever had a crush on me. I'm probably going to be single for the rest of my life fufufufu. If I ever did have that situation though, I'd choose guy A in a heartbeat. That's a no-brainer. -___-
No I really liked them haha. n__n
AND GIVE ME MOAR.
Give all of them to me now. I'm a fast reader/watcher so I run out of things to do easily haha. I LOVE SHOUJO AND ROMANCE hehe.
LOL I've read so many of those-especially those kinds of manhwas.
I don't even remember the names of them because they were so bad.
*did not even realize the length of own comment* o__o *is shocked at the length*
I KNOW, RIGHT? It makes me wonder if my brain will be retarded like that as well, only, I doubt I'd ever have 2 guys falling in love with me at the same time.....that's kinda unrealistic. :P I never even had an actual crush yet....only the one-day-horomone-spazz-and-ends-like-30-minutes-later. xD
....I bet the drama and anime versions totally ruins the actual story. xD Oh, and if you finish the ones I've given, I can always give you many more!! :D (I read so many shoujo/romance mangas that practically all the good ones have been read by me. There's practically none that I haven't read. Besides those crappy shoujos where it's completely predictable after reading page 1 xD)

That's quite a long post you have as well LOL. And I love it too haha. TAEMIN IS SO ADORABLEEEE. <3
ROFL NO KIDDING. It's like "okay, so I have two choices. Guy A is nice to me and loves me and would do anything for me. He smiles at me, has a good time with me, and would protect from anything and everything. Guy B breaks my heart, toys with me, goes out with other girls, thinks about other girls, and sometimes teases me, but I know that DEEP INSIDE he loves me..... I'm going with Guy B. I WILL WITHSTAND THE PAIN THAT COMES WITH LOVE, BECAUSE I LOVE HIM-and inevitably, that relationship would probably end in a break up" LOLOL. Psychology tests are frighteningly accurate~
Yes I do. Yale's are sooo boring and MIT's are alright. I LOVE STANFORD'S THOUGH LOL. The HumBio and CompSci profs are so awesome. I want to go to Stanford fweee~
Awesomeness. :D I've watched the Absolute Boyfriend drama and the anime for Aishiteruze baby and Kimi ni todoke, but I'll definitely check the others out fank eweeeee. x)
TROLOLOL I LOVE YOUR NEW SHINEE ICON. xD It's Taemin. :P (and lol, what a long comment you typed there)
Bah, magnanimous wasn't exactly the word I was looking for, but it was the only one I could think of, so I just used it. xDD Even so, if the mean guy is always the guy who gets the girl, THAT gets boring! I can't even count how many times my heart was broken because the nice guy doesn't get the girl. :( And seriously, the plots always make the girl seem like a masochist, not caring that they're being bullied and what not >.>
HAHAHAHA YES. "Nice guys finish last, that's why I treat you like trash~"
*is completely lost about everything after that because I have no knowledge about dramas* xD
WOW. YOU LISTEN TO LECTURES?! THAT'S SO SMART. I SHOULD DO THAT TOO. You watch them on youtube?
Ok, some of my favorite mangas (warning: some are very tear-jerking): Absolute Boyfriend, Ashiteruze Baby, Beauty Pop, (omg, I just realized I'm going in alphabetical order without meaning to), Kimi Ni Todoke, Beast Master, NG Life, Penguin Revolution.
All these mangas have the following in common: main characters are high schoolers, all characters- guys and girls- have strong personalities, very sweet plot. :D
I didn't like Misaki's childhood friend too much though hehe.
I LOVED KAICHOU WA MAID SAMA. <3
If every anime guy was like Usui.... xD
LOL no kidding. Like Go Minyu in You're Beautiful, Mary in Mary Stayed Out All Night, everyone in Heartstrings, Hani in Personal Taste, most of the characters in GF is a Gumiho, most mothers (like in BOF/Shining Inheritance/etc), the protagonist in Queen Inhyun's Man, the protagonist in Pasta, etcetcetc. The list goes on and on and on and on. One interesting kdrama character is Lee Da Hye's character in Miss Ripley though. I don't care about the scandal that the drama was based off of, but I think the character in the drama was really interesting. She did some really messed up things to climb to the top of the social hierarchy, but she had a really strong character despite her really sucky childhood/adulthood and the millions of "if only"s that could have turned her life around, and in the end, she regretted everything she did and turned over a new leaf so I like her.
EXACTLY. They were like little elementary schoolers but it was so adorabbleeeeee. x) I wish stuff like that existed in real life haha. I'd rather run around frolicking and screaming in amusement parks than go to a boring movie or dinner. /shot'd
Sometimes my parents say I'm too childish.
And YES. Misaki is an awesome anime girl. Usually writers make anime girls really whiny but Haruhi and Misaki are awesome. xD
And each to her own I guess haha. I thought it was interesting, but it just wasn't my taste.
I know right?! Kaichou wa Maid-sama was virtually flawless in my eyes, everyone in that series was awesome. XD
I'm sure! Irritating characters seem to be far more prevalent in kdramas quite honestly lol.
Yeah, without the crying and that they were perfect together! I love how Misaki was never excessively emotional, she's one of my favorite female anime characters. Lovely Complex was really cute overall, I agree. ^^
I thought it was pretty cute, but that may just have been me. XD
Lol well whining and ranting are pretty different imo! As long as you don't sob while ranting, you're probably good. o.o
LOL SAME. I wish there were a bajillion animes like OHSHC, Gakuen Alice, Lovely Complex and Kaichou wa Maid Sama. u____u
And lolol I've seen my fair share of irritating characters. XD
And I loved Lovely Complex, but I'd have to agree about Risa. I think when Risa and Otani were happy go lucky and oblivious, they were awesome and so I was like ASKDLASDADA; YES. The crying got annoying though. I liked the anime overall though so I just tended to ignore/forget Risa's whining. xD
I watched the first 6 eps of World only God Knows, didn't really like that either haha. It kinda seemed boring. xD
Oh and really? LOL I always thought of myself as fairly whiny. xD which is why I rant about stuff so often lolol
Last edited by gomdorri at 5:37:41 PM EDT on August 3, 2012.
Bahaha no wonder! I did a review of the first episode, and that in itself was difficult to sit through. :'D
Yeah, I can imagine how that would be aggravating. One of the reasons why I tend to stray away from romantic animes nowadays is because they either bore me, or annoy me. I feel like some characters are just created to be irritating. XD
Which, tbh, really bothers me because I don't think every female on the planet is like this. I found myself bashing my head into my keyboard repeatedly every time Risa cried over Otani at some point in Lovely Complex. - -' which was quite a bit as far as i can rememberYou don't seem to me like the whiny/dependent type, quite honestly. xD
Toradora was so cute~ And yeah, Clannad is a bit slow, but the second season was totally worth watching and the ending was just alkdjl;afda;. Erm. The World God Only Knows was also mildly entertaining. And you shouldn't have to worry about animation quality with Code Geass because the graphics are very high quality. I really like the character design in that one. *stops herself before she gets carried away*
LOL SAME HERE. This is the 5th time attempting to watch Peach Girl. The first 4 times I stopped after like 3 minutes of the first ep because I hated the art, and I hated the dubs. xD
I like Touji, and Kairi in the beginning but I kinda don't like Momo. When she's strong, she's cool and admirable but then whenever something slightly ominous happens she braces herself for the worst and sympathizes with herself and starts sobbing. Her feelings are too capricious and she switches from guy to guy and claims to "love" them, and then a little later forgets all about them, gives them up, and then suddenly "loves" them again lol. And she overreacts to the smallest things. xD
But I can't really complain about that, since a majority of the female characters I've seen are usually like that: dependent and whiny (GREAT EXAMPLE OF THIS IS BOKURA GA ITA LOOOOOL)... Tbh I think I'm dependent and whiny too. /shot'd
I already watched Toradora and I did try Clannad but I didn't really like it haha. I'll try Code Geass though!
EXACTLY asdfklasdf;. Sometimes it works out, but sometimes the guy is just a straight out jerk that doesn't deserve the girl. ANd sometimes I dislike both the boy and girl lead so I have no problem with the couple lolol.
And I don't think magnanimous is the right word haha. It's more that both guys are nice, except one hides his personality by being mean, and the other is open about it. I see a lot of people hating on Touji from Peach Girl even though he loved her even after the break up and tried to protect her from Sae. Same with a lot of other dramas/anime : the nice guy doesn't get the girl even though he protected her all along.
I think it's because people don't like those who are reserved and patient ALL the time. I guess some people would be bored to death around people like that, since they'd always smile and put up with your troubles/etc.
IT'S LIKE NIGAHIGA'S SONG: NICE GUYS FINISH LAST.
/shot'd
but yeah I feel so bad for the nice people who are as dedicated (if not more) but lose because their personality is "boring" or they're "stupid" or "too independent" or something. -___-
ohmygosh like Dylan and Cun Xi in Fated to Love You. Dylan is amazing and is ALWAYS nice to Xin Yi. He always helped her and supported her and smiled and stuff. Cun Xi caused Xin Yi to have a miscarriage and treated her like trash, even after the 2 year fast forward, he was still immature, irresponsible and irritating.
Xin Yi ended up with Cun Xi and there was a very poor development of the characters (it seemed like she just suddenly fell in love with Cun Xi, and there was no reason why she did.) I hated that drama. XD
I'd rather be around someone like Touji than someone who I'd argue with 24/7 and cry over though lolololol.
Manga recommendations are fine too. XD
I'm just really bored and hate watching academic videos hehe. Except for Stanford's. I'm going to take comp sci and humbio if I go to Stanford because I've fallen in love with the lectures. I DIDN'T KNOW PROFESSORS COULD BE COOL. XD
I tried watching Peach Girl, but the graphics killed me. I couldn't get past episode one :'D At least I spared myself from raging at whoever wrote the anime, because I have a feeling I would have from your summary there! XD
As for an anime rec, if you liked Death Note, you should try out Code Geass. ^^ (it's mainly action and general badassery) It's a really complex anime which is why I love it so much, it gives me so many feeeeeels. I'm just obsessed with it in general LOL. If you're looking for something on the cuter/romance-y side, I'd try Toradora or Clannad. ^^
Hmmm...is Peach Girl the one where this girl swims a lot so she's all tan and is often made fun of because of that?
And yeah, I agree, the plot of where the main girl ends up with the guy who bullies her often is ubiquitous. It's always sad to read/watch the magnanimous guy be rejected by the girl. WHYYYYYY. THEY DESERVE HER MOREEEE. :(
There aren't many awesome animes, besides the popular ones, but I can give tons of mangas! xD

IT'S LIKE NIGAHIGA'S SONG: NICE GUYS FINISH LAST.

but yeah I feel so bad for the nice people who are as dedicated (if not more) but lose because their personality is "boring" or they're "stupid" or "too independent" or something. -___-
ohmygosh like Dylan and Cun Xi in Fated to Love You.
XDHulaberry32

There aren't many awesome animes, besides the popular ones, but I can give tons of mangas! xD
