I personally don't like ones with plot as much since I don't feel like I have as much liberty to do stuff I like.

I love the characters in Tokimeki Memorial Girls' Side 2nd Season though and so I played it. Some of the scenes are adorable. >__<

With the patch, they still talk in Japanese (which I like-especially some of their voices hehe), but the game is translated into English and so you shouldn't have any trouble playing it.

This is the trailer for the 2nd season game if you want to watch~ There is this one guy (I don't think he's in the trailer though) that looks almost EXACTLY like L omg.

I haven't played otome games much because I no speak Japanese, so I'm not sure exactly what I'd like. I do like bunches of Shoujo, though, so I'd probably have some interest in a slice of life otome game. But I often prefer stuff with actual plot *laugh* it depends what mood I'm in xD

It's not historical/scifi/etc though. It's more slice of life otome and so I dunno if you'd like that, but I think it's a fairly good otome game. It's so creepy how they say your name though omg. The second time I played Tokimeki memorial I didn't use my real name because it felt awkward hearing them call me by my name the whole time. o__O

Lol, whenever I hear the name of that game, I think of Ouran. Isn't that the game they mock in that anime? (they change the name a little bit but it's pretty close to the name of that game)

If you get a Tokimeki Memorial rom, patch it using the fan subs that someone uploaded (only takes like a second and there is a tutorial on the site with the patch), then you can play Tokimeki Memorial on Desmume.I do that for cool Japanese games that aren't released in the US.

Hakuouki is pretty interesting because even though it is *obviously* fiction it is based in an interesting time in the history of Japan (although obviously all those samurai did not look like THAT >__>) But it also has a supernatural twist to it. And it IS a visual novel, so there's some of all that guy stuff, blah blah...

Tokimeki Memorial hasn't been released in the US but there are fan patches/subs for it that people made for translating the game if you don't mind using DeSmuMe

And you haven't heard of Hakuouki? Oh, I have the visual novel for my PSP, and I've seen both seasons of the anime. The art is gorgeous and I mean hot samurai bishies need I say more? xD

YOU SHOULD PLAY TOKIMEKI MEMORIAL GIRLS' SIDE 1ST AND 2ND SEASON. (I played those and Love Revo)

The only thing that I don't like about Tokimeki is that guys bomb you if you don't go out with them every now and then, buuuut that game is awesome. <3
There are English patches and there are lotsa bishies. Well, more bishies in 2nd season than in 1st haha.

I still think Hikami is the most awkward/adorable "anime" character in existence though haha. I like the set up of the Tokimeki Memorial games. You should try it~
