Exactly. Because remember: A movie or series of movies tell THE ENTIRE STORY and doesn't miss a detail. If a video-game were to do the same and the movie didn't follow, it would be either a disgrace, a different story, or noone would understand the real story.
Yeah, it is usually like that like you say. But the thing is that not only that sometimes they go wrong with the storyline, but what also is bad even more, is that they mess up the presentation.
We want to have that feeling like we had by playing the game and then watching that movie and not something completely else.
Like they wanted to make a Halo movie, but actually gave up because they saw that it might anger many fans if they continued like that, so they asked for a new director to produce it better.
Or a funny like you just mentioned above, there is with Dragon Ball. First anime came out, then there is a movie, which was totally bad. But after the movie, a video game came out who is based of that movie which is based of the anime. Surprisingly, the game was better than the movie. XD
Well, with the reverse, it isn't that bad.
Take "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" for example(if you have seen the movie or read the book). If the movie came out, we would already know what it was about, so if a game comes out, it would'nt matter to me if the game didn't follow the same path because a game like that should be more than just, beat the game and watch the movie at the same time, then all is a happy ending.
But, at the same time, if say, "Kingdom Hearts" is already a game(which it is) and the game tells the story. But if a movie is made from the game, and it doesn't add up, because THE GAME tells the story correctly, or maybe we wouldn't know what tells the story correctly.
I know what you mean by that.. Games that are made after a movie are mostly bad to average, but at least follow the plot and we can skip them anyway. But movies just take the cake.. It is so wrong when they make it like that after a game, but at least they try... I think.
Hm, it seems so. Fifth movie, even if I don't like it too much, I still like RE as overall and can't wait to see what they will make this time.^^
I've played the very first game, and I honestly don't care if the GAME doesn't match the MOVIE.
But I DO CARE IF THE MOVIE DOESN"T MATCH THE GAME(meaning the game coming out first and the movie not adding up. That is so annoying.)
But there's a new Resident Evil coming out next year.
They are not bad, really. I even think that they could have gone better if they tossed away Resident Evil name and just worked on their own project.. But still.. Oh, really? I haven't checked that out yet, but it was expected for them to release another one.
Though about the CG movie, that's a good thing. First one was pretty good, so I am sure that this one will be good as well.^^
I agree with u my friend, but all of them r fun to watch tho me & my sister luv them. however.... they r making ANOTHER ONE...It's called Resident Evil: Retribution. the movie will include Leon & Jill (again) but this Jill is from RE5. The info i found on this is from wikipedia. it has all the answers that & there is another CGI Film of RE Called: Damnation
You've just pointed out yet another example of video games-movies not working at all. I really don't know why they even try to screw the fans over by making this garbage. Hell, at least make it somewhat resemble the game. They could have done so much with the 1st game as a basis for the movie that then they could have gone on the show Raccoon City with the cop that name escapes me right now. That way then they could go in any of different directions but stay close to the game. Pay respect to the game. They sadly do not do that.
