Hello and welcome to Keba's Anime and Manga Place (KAAMP for short)! Here at KAAMP, I write about anime and manga that I have seen/read as well as my views on them. I'll also post about my original stories from time to time.

Just beware that some of my posts contain spoilers. I'll put them in spoiler tags just in case.

KAAMP's history: KAAMP was created in July 2002 by yours truly. It was a sloppy-looking website on Yahoo's now defunct Geocities. I posted my anime fan art on that site. Also, for a time, I posted my thoughts on the few anime series that I had seen. Now that I look back on it, my thoughts were rather ill-informed (is that even a word?) because I had only seen bits and pieces of anime dubs. Now that I've seen more series, I think that my commentary on various anime will be a little better than before.

So, come on in and stay awhile! KAAMP is now in session.

Friday (I'm in Livestream) [OFF]

Who's up for me doing one? I'm going to try it on Picarto this time if I can get it to work. That way, there will be sound and I can let you hear my new demos. Of course, there will be drawings. Hopefully, I can start between 6 and 7 CST.

Update: I'm starting this now. Let me know if it works. Let's Picarto!

Update part deux: Well, the livestream is over. Thanks to Kyra and TDE for stopping by!

After the Surprise Hiatus

I'm back after being away from my computer for about 48 hours. I'm surprised the withdrawal hasn't made me contort into knots. Death Note references are soooo last decade. Who am I kidding? This is going to get personal ...

Scatterbrained

I'm going to jump around a lot in this post. Most paragraphs won't have anything to do with each other.

I just created a PaintBerri account. My name there is "Keba". I did a little doodle, and it's kind of ugly.

I also recently got a Picarto. I'm KebaSiRota over there. I'll try to do a livestream soon. It may or may not work out because my upload speed isn't the greatest. And I don't have a complete grasp of how to use it.

Since I accidentally posted it on this World and corrected that without updating, my latest chapter of Survival Instincts has gone unnoticed. Let's fix that.

Speaking of Fiction Feedback Central, no one else has posted anything. I check it every once in a while, but no one besides me has posted.

I finished two anime within the last two days. One was Yu Yu Hakusho, and the other was Baccano!. Coincidentally, both of the aforementioned anime have similar plot elements to my stories. That was not intentional. I had those ideas BEFORE I saw those series. Just wanted to make that clear.

My premium subscription to FUNimation's site is expiring in 20 days. If I watch six episodes of anime per day, I will have watched everything I set out to watch on the site. I can't believe I'm going to dedicate two to three hours for the next 20 days watching anime. Then again, I'm under-employed and currently lacking inspiration to draw/write/play guitar.

The FMAB DVDs I ordered came in. I was expecting them to come on the 15th, but they arrived yesterday. That's two days after I ordered them. But I'll have to put of watching them for the next 20 days. Refer to the previous paragraph.

Here's a weird little piece of news: I'm playing Pokemon Yellow. I restarted the game because I'm rethinking my strategies on how to train my Pokemon. And I want to exploit a glitch to catch Mew. Yes, it can be done. And I'm gonna do it.

Farewell, Fullmetal

I just found out this morning that FUNimation is losing the license to Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. The movie sequel to the original Fullmetal Alchemist anime is going, too. A metaphorical dark cloud has been hanging over my head ever since.

So, now I guess I'd better buy all the "Brotherhood" DVDs. I hope I have the money for that. I was hoping they'd put out some special edition type thing before the license expired. That's what I was saving up for. I couldn't care less about the movie. It was awful.

Still, that's the least of my worries. From what I hear, the license is reverting back to Aniplex, which is a company that likes to jack up the prices on DVDs, sell them for a limited time, and then just sit on their properties as the titles waste away. I'm afraid that the series will be largely forgotten after that happens.

Then again, it's probably largely forgotten as far as Japan is concerned. I read a blog detailing that Japanese audiences are much less sentimental about their series than American audiences. Of course, anime and manga is made for Japanese consumers. The foreign markets are just added bonuses. This makes sense, but it also makes me feel powerless.

I had a feeling that this would happen someday. I just never expected it so soon. This is the worst Groundhog Day ever!

FUNi and Stuff

I just subscribed to FUNimation the other day. My name there is (surprise!) KebaFox. Feel free to add me as a friend.

What brought on this subscription is two things. The first is that they extended the free trial period to 30 days, and I wanted to take advantage of that. The second is that FUNi is going to lose their license to Baccano! in, like, a week, and that anime has been on my list for some time. I'm finally watching it, and it's very intriguing. Violent, but intriguing.

Only time will tell whether I continue my subscription after the trial period ends. I probably won't, though.

In other news, I still have an art block. I have two traditional drawings in the works, and two of the three Challenge prizes sketched and scanned, but once I finish those (and that third Challenge prize), I have no clue what to do next.

My problem, as I've stated before, isn't subject matter. It's situations. I've looked up those "draw the squad" memes, but most of them are absolutely silly. If anyone comes across any group pictures or prompt meme-type-things that I might find inspiring, please link them. Thanks.
