Hello and welcome to Keba's Anime and Manga Place (KAAMP for short)! Here at KAAMP, I write about anime and manga that I have seen/read as well as my views on them. I'll also post about my original stories from time to time.
Just beware that some of my posts contain spoilers. I'll put them in spoiler tags just in case.
KAAMP's history: KAAMP was created in July 2002 by yours truly. It was a sloppy-looking website on Yahoo's now defunct Geocities. I posted my anime fan art on that site. Also, for a time, I posted my thoughts on the few anime series that I had seen. Now that I look back on it, my thoughts were rather ill-informed (is that even a word?) because I had only seen bits and pieces of anime dubs. Now that I've seen more series, I think that my commentary on various anime will be a little better than before.
So, come on in and stay awhile! KAAMP is now in session.
Thank you all for the gifts, comments, PMs, and dedications! I started replying to some, but then I had to go to my parents' and the comments kept building up while I was gone. I just want you guys to know that the love is truly appreciated. *Hugs everyone.*
I was even talking about some of you to my parents. I won't name names of whom I brought up, but be assured that I only said positive things.
By the way, if you were wondering about my birthday cake, it was strawberry. Strawberries are out of season, so why did I want a cake with them? Well... I was kind of craving it.... Ah, heck, THIS IS WHY. ♪
So, in conclusion, I hope everyone had a great day, whether you celebrated Christmas or not. Here's to a happy new year!
Yeah.... OK, so maybe I wouldn't call you "cap'n". And I wouldn't be topless (much to your relief). And we wouldn't be in a prison. Would the building that we'd be in fall down? Probably not. PROBABLY not.
No, I'm not talking about that song by The Fray. *Shot.* I'm talking about gearing up for 2015.
To start off, I have to finish four more prizes and a Secret Santa pic before the year is done. Then I'm going to be sketching one character per day starting January 1. I hope I can keep up the pace-- especially since I'll likely be watching anime all the while to find more characters to sketch.
In addition to that, I'd like to do some more drawings. I bought this marker board type paper stuff and I've been dying to try it out. I might use it for some OC pictures.
Aside from otaku-related endeavors, I have to get my act together and play my guitar more. I keep procrastinating no matter what kind of incentive I give myself.
Other things I should do are open up an online store to sell my knitting or get a fourth job. I'd rather do the former unless I'm hired for some kind of dream job. Either way, with that and my other jobs, I don't know if I'm going to find the time for everything.
I know most of this is fun stuff that I WANT to do rather than HAVE to do, but still I feel stressed about it. If you haven't noticed, I'm a very ambitious person with very little drive. Stupid depression getting in the way of life.
Where was I going with this? I have no idea. It kind of turned into a vent post. At least it's better than going crazy in solitude.
I have a bit of a problem. For those of you in the Sketch Marathon, you might know what it is. While sketching 365 characters isn't a problem (challenge, yes, but not a problem... yet), I have to figure out 365 characters that I want to sketch.
I've written down a list of series to sketch characters from, although I haven't figured out which ones to sketch from each series. Who do I include? Who do I exclude?
I'm going to draw more characters from the series that I really, really like as opposed to the ones that I only kinda like. Still, my list of series is kind of pitiful since some of those that I'm really into, I haven't finished. I'm trying to group these drawings by series, so I don't want to sketch characters from a series that I haven't finished, only to find, after the fact, that I wanted to draw that one character that they hadn't introduced yet.
And even if I do finish all those series, do I have enough characters to carry me through to the end of the year?
I never thought I'd say this anytime soon, but do you people have any anime you could recommend to me? I'd prefer short series (30 episodes or less) without anything... graphic. It's OK if you mention series that I already watch/watched/want to watch anyway-- there might be sequels and OVAs.
I leave you now with a final thought. ♪
Do you know the anime
Do you know your anime
Well gotta know the anime (oh-ey) ♬
Oops. Now that song is probably stuck in your head. Please select one of the following responses: (1) I'm sorry. (2) You're welcome.
