The worst thing to do when you can't sleep is to try to sleep. It sounds counter-intuitive, but it's true. Doing something like reading or listening to music (with earbuds/headphones, of course) will help you drift off. Sometimes I forget about that and toss and turn all night.

As for hardly ever changing an avatar, I was an active poster on a message board for three years and I didn't change my avatar at all. I have since left that message board, but the avatar is still the same.

Oh, I know how that feels. My internet went all wonky, so my dad had to replace the router last night while I had an essay due in the morning. It was on Google Docs. So instead of staying up till I-don't-know-when, I decided to go to bed at nine so I could get up at four and finish my essay. It's now 5:15, essay's done, and I am an hour and thirty-five minutes early for even getting up for school.
On a lighter note, I love your avatar! The icons are perfect and totally express who you are.
you should try using picasion.com, it's free and easy :)

you just have to size the pics 100x100 then select the speed for your avi and then you're set :)

I liked your old avatar thou the drawing was very neat..I don't change my avi alot as well I think I've changed it maybe 6 times in the 7 years as a mamber here hehe..Hope you get everything sorted on photoshop and all..
